Good morning,

We are looking to install a 2 inch dirt separator to protect a new heat exchanger in an old open vent system, and we are considering either the Spirotrap from Spirotech or Zeparo Cyclone from IMI Hydronics. The Spirotrap is well known, but would be interested in feedback on the Zeparo vs the Spirotrap. Which one would you choose and why? Both can also have magnets included as an option.

Here is some information on the Zeparo Cyclone:

Thanks

never heard of zeparo but why not separate with plate so the open vent side never coms into contact with the sealed boiler side

We will separate the open vent system from the sealed system with a heat exchanger. However, the dirt separator and magnetic filter will be fitted on the return of the heat exchanger in the open vent system to protect the heat exchanger.
