Hi,
I want to zone my existing central heating system (currently unzoned).
There is a hot water supply that split after the boiler (upstairs and downstairs).
I know if need to put a valve after the T on the line to the downstairs rads, but what about the upstairs rads. If I put one just after the T going upstairs it will shut off supply to the upstairs rads and the hot water tank.
Do i need to follow the line upsatirs and fit two valves just after it branches off between the hot water tank and the rads, so one on the tank supply or tie in and one just after it on the line going to the rads?
I suppose my question is, is it this simple or am i missing something, could the tank return be be piped to the radiator supply, or shoudl this be on the return line back to the boiler?
Is this a standard job to do, my buddy says i need to run a separate supply and return to the tank but i don't think this is necessary...
Thanks,
James.
