What does an un-sleeved as pipe come down as on a landlord safety check? If not to current standards is not applicable anymore? Thank you.

ncs just note down

unless showing signs of distress

Just seal it up , its quicker.
Thanks to sleeve it the pipe would need cutting sleeve pushing through the wall and the pipe re connecting. Its not just the internal side of the sleeve that needs sealing. There's no sleeve there.

Apologies pal , I read it too quick , can you cut the pipe lenthways and bend it over the pipe . Obviously depends if theres room .

I would inform the customer and talk to her that it will need a sleeve. Tell her the price if she agrees you make a little more on the job if not ncs

Post a picture up bud bit a of common sense needed here in a ideal world it should be sleeved all the way through and sealed on the inside , if its showing signs of distress then this should be addressed if not and the pipework is sound i would note it down on a gas saftey cert. Cheers kop

It's still NCS just make a note of it on paperwork
No warning notice needed

Care expand on that please. Its either AR or ID in which AR it is which is my understanding
Your point is my point. Someone above was stating that it is only NCS, if you read my comments I have asked which gas pipe they are on about, as it is also my understanding to be AR as per GIUSP

Not if it’s the pipe off the gas meter it isn’t.

Only ar if it's medium Pressure

If the meters not sealed through the wall only ncs

2.8 doesn’t say anything about being medium pressure mate.

Read the notes advise only, if it was true ar it would be isolate supply

In short most things that were ncs are now ar but advise only

I understand your point mate, but my point is that it is still AR not NCS. The op was classing it as NCS and it isn’t. You would still need to fill out a warning notice.

As it's advise only no you wouldn't just note down on your sheet gas pipe unsleeved

They've put double standards for ar now which in my opinion is bs

It's now "non compliant" providing no sign of damage to pipework. Advise to homeowner/agent/landlord. No longer formally notifiable. I'd personally seal it if in a meter box removing the chance of entry of gas from meter box.

I would still AR it. Don’t care what any of it says. My interpretation of 2.8 says it’s AR.

That diagram says I’m correct with what I was saying though. I’m now confused?:confused:

But it is still AR so my point is I you should still leave a notice as this proves you have advised them

If you leave a notice you have to cap the supply

depends how you interpret turning off the appliance/install
NCS - doesn’t exist anymore, do whatever you want
AR - isolate at Gas supply or remove fuse from
Spur with permission, attach label and issue notice
ID - disconnect, or my interpretation (cap off if going back tomorrow) and attach label/leave notice. I physically do not know where you are saying I am wrong?
It maybe me just being stupid?

Hi, I seemed to have a blockage in kitchen sink. A plumber came and cleared all the pipework that is visible inside my home (there was debris and pebbles!) We saw that the pipe that takes water down the gutter was visibly full to the top. He said he will return with a coil to push through...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
