Ok and thanks againIf you mean coming from the stoptap itself then no not usually, if it’s too stiff you can break them, but can be hard to do that. As a Rob has suggested try a lubricant of some sort.

I'll take your advice as I'm not comfortable tackling it. CheersPersonally I’d turn the water off in the street or at the very least make sure you have the tools/ability to do so before getting too involved with this.
