How safe are flexi pipes my toilet cistern has one it was changed about a year ago when the toilet was removed for some work to the bathroom floor. However would it be better if replaced with copper pipe. What is the life time of flexi pipes, has any one had experience of them failing.

Would change them every 5 years cheap insurance

When deciding between flexi pipes and copper pipes for plumbing applications, various considerations come into play. Flexi pipes, known for their flexibility, offer a cost-effective and easily installable solution. Their pliability facilitates installation in tight spaces and corners, potentially reducing labor costs. However, their durability may be a concern, particularly in environments with high temperatures or pressures. The connectors in flexi pipes, especially at the ends, may be more susceptible to leaks over time, and their lifespan may not match that of copper pipes.

On the other hand, copper pipes present a robust and durable option. With a longer lifespan and resistance to corrosion, copper pipes excel in applications where reliability and longevity are paramount. Their ability to withstand high temperatures and pressures makes them suitable for various plumbing needs. While the initial cost of copper pipes may be higher, their enduring performance and reduced need for replacements can contribute to long-term cost-effectiveness.
