As the title say's, how do you apply your flux?

Just the pipe and give it a twist.

I do just the fitting, was the way I was taught so just kept on doing it :)

So what are we gathering from this - that applying flux on the inside of the fitting as well as the outside of the pipe is perfectly fine? Now no one jump down my throat here I'm just trying to understand the reason for the poll.

SHUT YA FACE!!!!

Only joking mate. I'm just curious.

I do both. Tried just the pipe, but the guy who was teaching me was not happy as I was doing it for him also and he didn't think it drawed properly

Because its exciting...

Mostly just the pipe, but I get lazy sometimes (if i cant find my flux brush) and just do the fitting with the end of my solder

Cast your votes gents...us pipe and fittings lot have got em against the ropes!

Why pipe only for gas? I do pipe only unless its 28mm or above then I do both

I flux pipe only if its gas so no flux pushes into the pipe.
i don't want any restriction in a gas pipe as it can't be flushed through.

All over my now purple trousers.

I've noticed that, little spots of purple on my blue Fruit Of The Loom tops.

Pipe and fittings. Never use a brush because it puts too much on. A wipe with the finger or the end of the solder for half inch.
Never had a leak in 9153 days

One of lifes mysteries! Why does flux react with blue cotton and turn it purple?

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
