Hi do any of you guys make money doing anything other than plumbing/heating? and if you could make enough/same money would you leave plumbing behind?

I play in a band on weekends mainly covers .. get a few quid doing it but nothing to quit work for ha

anyone care to share?

Sometimes I do wonder if the stress and aggravation is worth the (half-decent) money. I know a few people who do much less work with much less stress for a lot more money and who are, being frank, not as intelligent or hard-working as I am.

But that's life, is it not?

As long as you make enough, and are happy, then there's that.

Im pondering buying a coffee van.
Me and her have been discussing her down time lol

Not as easy money as you may think.
Long hours
Early starts
Food spoilage
Lots of cleaning
Public liability insurance
And very importantly, business protection insurance (the kind paid weekly in cash)

I personally wouldn't worry about BPI lol.
Other costs are small compared to what we fork out for.
Just the location is vital

Surely chimney sweeps are the money earners. 40 quid for a 15 minutes sweep. Minimal tools, potential for fitting liners stoves etc.

My bird wants to invest in a chip shop ,
as already said i know some right lazy plebs who do not a lot for a lot of money ironic how one of them is an architect he really thinks he's hard done by

My brother in law plays in a band called "Huge" they play most Saturday's . Gets ÂŁ250. Wish I could play more than a triangle or tambourine!

I do a bit of pimping on the side, got some nice hoes; but you really need to have a good supply of crack rock to keep em working

I thought about clawing the heed off it at the sperm bank, heard you got ÂŁ30 a shot, once a day fair adds up :D

Jesus I could make a passive income of ÂŁ210.00 a week! Plus there would be some damn good looking kids walking the street too... in 18 years lol

I used to do graphic design.. Still do the odd bit here and there.

I do a bit of part time journalism for a fishing newspaper which pays quite well.
Been planning for a while to buy an angling charter boat & run that a couple of days a week in the Summer.

Roofing repairs or arial man. No one checks your work.

A mate of mine started a sandwich run around office buildings, looked good on paper but in reality it was a nightmare and failed to make even a small profit.

I find being a gay escort pays alot more and youd be suprised how enjoyable it is.

Window cleaner seems to be a doddle. ÂŁ15 and I doubt it takes him more than 10mins - mind you, ive recently cancelled!
You need a cloth, squeegie, bucket, ladders and a car. If you hit it right you could do 5 an hour

Gender bending seems to be the way forward nowadays and, as Tom suggests, profitable.
There could also be a nice little earner doing plumbing on the side by slipping the client two business cards.

Plumbing with benefits is definitely the way forward. Its a tough world out there and offering a personal service is what the customers want

How about combining plumbing with being a fireman. Plenty of time for sleep during shifts with the fire brigade so there's loads of time to do some plumbing when not on shift or on days off.
Great pay too so plenty of scope to undercut full time plumbers. Job's a goodun ! I'm amazed nobody has thought of it before...Oh, they have :(

I have recently bought my own house and decided to redo the kitchen. There was a radiator in the room already but I wanted to move it. I extended the pipes (8mm microbore) and plumbed in the new radiator. I opened the isolation valves and filled up the radiator with no issues. I've bled every...

I am starting a large victorian renovation and it will involve, (amongst everything else) installation of an entirely new heating and plumbing system. Plumbing, like most trades, seems to have two main aspects; design and installation. The installation part on my last two projects was painful...
