debating with architect today about the source of the dreaded ticking noise we can experience on ch installs.
is it A) unclipped pipes
B) pipes too tight in notched joist/ too close to underside of flooring
 
B for sure, A would be water hammer, different noise altogether!
 
thankyou i knew i was right, i do hate it when someone comes on site trying to impress a customer with their "knowledge"
smart arsed P****. gas man that is the way way i was taught to do it and i've had no complaints of noise, not unless you count the sound of water running down the walls LOL:)
