Hi everyone - new to the forum (and plumbing) so sorry if this is a daft question...
I am trying to fit a washing machine into my house, and will need to sort out a waste pipe. I have worked out that the waste pipe can go through an exterior wall, then outside there is an old cast iron stack (which is no longer used as its been replaced with a UPVC one when the bathroom was moved to the other side of the house). I am thinking of just getting a saw hole cutter and making a 32mm hole into the old cast iron stack, then pushing some upvc 32mm waste pipe an inch or so into the hole in the stack and sealing it around the edges. The other option I have seen is cutting a hole and fitting a boss clamp, but all the boss clamps I have seen are only for UPVC stacks, plus considering that the stack isnt used for anything now I am not sure of the advantages of using a boss clamp over just feeding the waste pipe into the stack and sealing around the edges.
Anyone got any ideas if my plan would work?
Cheers!!
