So this is the 3rd time a worcester greenstar install has done this. Turn on boiler for first time (commissioning process) preheat is supposed to last first 20mins then go normal.

However, the boiler DOES NOT come out of preheat.

Now when i got accredited as a worcester installer they told us how to skip this but after ringing technical, on more than 3 occasions and different technical staff tell me it is 'dangerous' to do this as it permanently turns off the siphon pump or something.

Anyhow, their saying the PCB has a fault in and needs their engineer. Absolute joke as this recent install has took 4days and the woman has had no hot water/heating....

Any comments?

What a load of rubbish you have been told, the delay is the heat cell to purge air pal, as there is no AAV at the top it's on the pump, at the same time it pulses the pump, it has seven speeds on proportional mode, this clears air faster etc.

press the spanner button until 1A appears, then press Eco button until 4F appears, with 4F in the display press the chimney sweep button, you will see 01, press holiday button once 00 will appear, then press chimney sweep until 2 brackets appear, setting is saved, the press spanner button once to exit, this will cancel this mode.

if this does not work new PCB REQUIRED, never had this but fitted hundreds and maintain a lot too

Ideal and Baxi he the same plug in and your off. Valiant have installer mode u can turn off purge.

Btw i'm fitting a baxi platinum tomorrow (i never bought it and recommended a vaillant) Never fitted one before. It better good because she lives over the back fence :smile:

easiest boiler in the world to fit and work on when you do the jig do it in this order gas first then cold then return the hot then flow then loop then prv,rubber hose will get trapped on the jig for the condy just flick the boiler forward and and it out,dont fix the bottom jig to the wall,there a PITA and you wont line anything up if you do,hope its the HEA hey have gone for,GA is a lemmon

Cancels it pal, it then won't do the same again if they have a power cut etc......

gas upgrade probably needed they need a min of 19 at the inlet or bang there nuts off,if it fails to light suspect a shagged govoner

Kubs check 2C also, access in same way, this is the air purge mode setting, 0=off 1 = Auto (this setting is out of the box, and should cancel, but yours isn't) 2 = what yours is doing now! keeps it in this mode permanent with burner off!

I use this setting on customers who don't pay, everyone will diagnose a new PCB, which will fix it, as default is setting 1 auto......please check yours pal it may be this setting
