Its not on the first email blast - just putting the finishing touches to that now. So you might have to wait. 🙂

Or just buy them. Our [DLMURL="http://www.tradeonlyplumbing.co.uk/pipe-fittings/copper-pipe-fittings/endfeed-fittings.html"]basic prices[/DLMURL] are cheaper than most peoples deals! Buy £100 worth and we will throw in [DLMURL="http://www.tradeonlyplumbing.co.uk/neilson-16hard-base-tool-bag.html"]one of these[/DLMURL]

And that way you get to decide on your own fittings, not what we want to get rid of. And you can mix it up with [DLMURL="http://www.tradeonlyplumbing.co.uk/pipe-fittings/copper-pipe-fittings/brass-compression-fittings.html"]compression[/DLMURL] to get to the £100. What more do you want? Me to come round and solder them for you?

No no no no, it's a fine art soldering Ray. Not just anyone can do it you know.

I've just had a good browse around the website and I can't find a single fault. You should be proud of it. Obviously I'm not logged in so not testing that functionality. But sharing products on social networks and generally trying to break the website somehow all seems perfect and solid.

Love the fact you're pointing out you're established. I get contacted monthly by firms that have just setup, and I can take months to reply to some emails (as you know Ray) and by the time I have clicked on their link, they've already gone bump. Customers need to know when a firm is solid. And your site certainly points that out.

I'm a bit confused with the site, at the bottom it says voucher code. But I haven't got one, most confusing.

I did my order today Ray how do I know if I've got a bag. Will I have to wait and see.

Did your order include £100+ vat of endfeed and compression fittings? Hang on, I can probably check that... <runs off into digital backroom> nope! Way under £100. BUT... since your order came to £flip-loads, and because we like you more than Leo, I have just emailed Ian and asked him to chuck a bag in. The truck will have left by the time I drift into work at 07:30.

Ps fate ham counter staff awesome when I called earlier. Full of good ideas[/QUOTE]

I now have a warm feeling Ray. Just so I know for future, as I know you have shat loads of bags is it ONLY compression and end feed as I struggled to find extras that I needed (note needed not wanted) cheers though

Yes, its just endfeed and compression - and when we say "compression" we mean ordinary compression fittings, from page 54 in our pricebook. We have had some people argue that a Honeywell 3 port valve should count because it has compression ends!

And we can now see the end of the bag mountain.

No idea. Probably close to Kismet Pork. You go ahead and order as many fittings as you like. Punish me baby, punish me! Force me to take your money and give you bags... 🙂

Well congrats. What's the next over order freebie

The next thing will be a series of email blasts, offering some silly deals on very short timescales, with a limit per customer and a total limit per product line.

So for example, the first blast has 6 fast moving products at prices well below our normal cost. It will go out by email, but I will also post it in the Arms. You have 4 days to take advantage, then the offer will change to 6 different product lines.

Deal of the weekish kind of thing. Sounds good

Yep.

I might also try a tent sale. I watched one of those lately.

It starts off announcing that we are going to sell (say) 100 boilers from a manufacturer. For the first 2 days, they are normal price less £20. Then for the second 2 days they are normal price less £40. Then for days 5 and 6, they are £60 off, and so on, up to £100 off.

The catch is - there is a limited number of each boiler, and you don't know how fast they are selling. So do you snap up a reasonable bargain at £60 off today, or wait for it to get to £100 off, but risk us running out?

Dont like the sound of that tent sale.
Seems like a shopping channel gimmick for steam mops......

Personally I don't think it fits with what I perceive your company image to be. But its your call..

Thats a fair point. I saw it being used by a high end retailer with a good reputation - but they were using it for clearing overstock, not for main stream sales.

Agree with Kevan. Not what I associate with a company of your calibre.

Little suggestion ray, adding links on the boilers to the manufacturers installation instructions for us 🙂

Yep, we are slowly adding links to the manufacturers sites - very slowly at the moment, because the same team are working flat out on the new price book, which contains a few surprises. 😉

But over time, we should add more and more links.

Ray

No. They do make a pro 2 chemical pack, but won't do deals on it, so we don't stock it.

thats such a shame. I really like the pro2 but will be buying all my boiler / central heating stuff from you guys going forward as I've had enough of my idiot merchant

We do sell the pro 2 on its own. It's just not such good value as the pro with free chemicals.

There may be a deal on tf1 coming soon. 🙂

Cheers Ray, I'll keep it in mind. I'm trying to use magna at the mo cuz you can get money back on the Glowworm scheme

How many branches do the e commerce or is it centralised to one Ray?

Fareham do most of it, but if there is a nearby branch that has the stock, we will pass it to them. Thats how Megaflo Experts got his same day delivery the other day - he lives not far from our Aldershot branch. Billy's order will probably be delivered by Maidstone, unless it includes something that they dont stock.

But our central depot in Fareham is way bigger than the next 3 branches combined, and when we finish our move, it will be bigger than the next 6 branches combined, and so can carry more stock lines than the others.

Order done ray.
guessing the shipping will be knocked off as itl be combined?

the site is a pleasure and easy to use on windows mobiles browser !!!!

very easy indeed.
saved to the homescreen !!!

Yep, we will deduct the carriage before charging it to your account.

Glad you like it. I just wish it worked like that for everyone - we have a couple of people who just cant log in, and we are struggling to work out why.

It hasn't run out Mas, but I can't tell how many are left, without working it out longhand. And I am too lazy to do that.

I'm gobsmacked! I was tempted to order the maximum but I thought people would be snapping it up so I'd leave some for others.

Might place another order now...

random question bathroom suites would you ship to scotland

We'll ship anywhere on the UK mainland Steve. If its over £100, then carriage is free.

To be honest, once its on a pallet, it doesn't really matter where in the country its going - Aspray charge us the same amount to take it 2 miles up the road or the other end of the country.

Very good to know.

do you do deals on full suites eg bath basin pan taps etc, got a job for a rented house shortly and wondering what your prices are like to the massive company's

Bathroom suites are a pita unless it is a council type punter who just wants something nicer. Too much info and choice on the net these days, The days of dropping in a couple of books are about over.
For me i'll tell you what will fit in, give a couple of places wher you can go see and buy (and maybe i'll pick up a ton or so if i have an account) then you buy it cos i can't be rsed raking around (unpaid) to find what you want.
Also you buy it its your problem If anything is short or damaged it is clocking up ££ for me.

Haven't we sent you a book Steve? Page 47. For a rental, I would say look at the Fresssh Georgia - £70something notes for 4 pieces of pot, then a cheap bath and some cassellie Rio taps from page 38. I bet you can get it all in under £200 + vat. (Just checked - yes you can)

Big players have big overheads. They will give you a good deal if you push them and are spending but they always pull it back on the small items you just pick up.
Btw i'm sure Plumb Nation (might be one of the others) are PTS but try getting those prices in a branch even if you humped Derek, Rosco and the (not so) wee bird in the office at the same time

Mindblowing factiod. When I started in this industry (nearly 28 years ago), you could get a low level WC suite with a plastic cistern, 3mm bath and basic taps for £149 + VAT.

A close coupled suite with 5mm bath, mono basin mixer and bath shower mixer was £199 + VAT. I remember, because I sold loads of them into the "posh" part of town.

The suite I just looked up for SMT is way better than that 1986 suite, but costs about a tenner less.

well FMOB.

.

Yes, PlumbNation belongs to Travis Perkins, and the fullfilment is carried out by PTS.

I need a bathroom showroom in a van but i'd need a flat bed trailer on the back and still wouldn't be enough!
Send me one anyway.

PM me a snail mail address Tam, and I'll get some on their way tomorrow.

tamz i see the counter boys derek is tight as , the counter boys cant beat the price that plumb nation get, i moved from plumbcentre hardcore customer never traded with anyone else and now pts and williams, plumbcentre is a rip off,

Plumb nation is cheaper than williams on some of there boiler items but when you get first class service every time then i would rather give my business to ray and the boys

Thanks Steve.

I keep a close eye on PlumbNation, DiscountedHeating, DirectHeating and Mr Central Heating. TDL also have a pop sometimes.

They seem to be the serious online players. We are the new boys in the online market, ruffling feathers.

We each have our moments, and different brands we are strong on. At the moment, we seem to have Ideal and Baxi sewn up, and some of the Vaillants, but lose on some other Vaillants, and particularly on Worcester. Mr Central Heating has Potterton as a private brand more or less.

Next month it will be "all change" again.

i think its the heat onlys, if i remember, that were cheaper, my central heating win on vokera but the struggle with the other boilers,

i just checked online they have put there prices up

Depends who you know but i've been around for a while
Btw next time you are in pts and see Derek tell him big Tam says he is a robbing bstd (i tell him that every time i see him) and no wonder i don't spend fk all with them and i'm spending it with scum centre

Swapped a boiler in Antonio's (Grahams road) last wed but Gianni is a tight bstd too. I near had to hair pull him to get some cash

He's a robbing bstd but his stuff is nice and the pannini's from the bistro are excellent but i get them for free . I took a good whack off him the other day.
Commercial: allegedly until 14 April. I'm pondering about renewing it as i'm not really into that anymore but i can get anything signed off if i need to. Its all about who you know

I used to use Plumbnation quite a bit, but have totally gone off them. You can't call them when your order doesn't turn up; you can only email and they'll respond within 24 hrs. My last two orders didn't turn up, and after a few emails (and several days!), all I could get was they would email me when it gets dispatched.
No good when you're waiting to book the job in...

that because they dont stock nothing they just use pts if pts has no stock then you hear nothing.

Thats one thing with ray if hes not got it he will say to you not instock but will be here next day, or will go and find it (well ian did) from an other branch,

Ray u getting a 4% bump on wb?

Yep. 4.2% to be precise, theoretically effective 1st April, but it will be May before we increase sell out prices.

Vaillant have already gone up on 1st March. Glowworm go up 1st April. Baxi have announced 1st June (on Baxi brand only), and Ideal rumoured to be following on same day as Baxi, but probably not all products.

Hi Kev

The order came through ok, but something happened at the payment processing stage. Thats not part of the system that I can get into, for obvious reasons, but we have the order details and I will get someone to phone you to deal with payment on Monday.

In the meantime I will pass on the error message to Advantec for their techies.

Ta for the order.

Ray
