lame plumber

having been seen off 4 times last year for a few hundred pounds, it seems a better idea to pay for a chip n pin reader for use with my mobile. Looking at paypal, who charge just under £70 for the reader and 2.75% or 3.4% plus 20p per transaction if ypu swipe or manually input the details. more for credit cards I presume, so who has used paypal or do peeps use another scheme that has worked for them? Answers please🙂

looking at paypal videos there doesnt seem to bbe a paper printout, does that cause any isssues with accounting or customers?

Most of them want/need/demand a print out TBH buddy.
I went with cardsave , a bit steep but the support is there and the machine is a doddle.

Most of the companies offering pay&go terminals take about 2.75%.

Some take a smaller percentage if you take a few thousand a month, but if you're going to use it a lot you'll probably be better off with a pay monthly one.

Receipts can be emailed, or sent via text so no need for a printer.

I'm currently using WorldPay Zinc, I've no issues so far, but I haven't used it much to be honest. Payments have been arriving within 3 days, with others it might be longer.

Others companies that do similar are, SumUp, izettle, Payeleven.

If you do decide to go for WorldPay, go through this link for £10 off the card reader.

Had. Payleven. But now got a PayPal one. Really good

looking at their blurb, money is in your ac straight way ready to transfer to your bank asap. I see you cab buy a printer for them elsewhere but they cost £200-400 plus!!!!!!!!!! for their recommended ones

Just a Bluetooth printer I use my fga one from my Kane

so your paypal machine or is it the phone and app that prints off on your kane printer with no issues then?
Its just that i thought the kane printer and fga worked via an ir link

Avoid paypal unless you dont mind paypal type paymets disputes - yes people can complain easy and get the funds returned.

Im with worldpay. 2nd hand terminal ebay 25 quid, no monthly fees and 2.75% per transaction what I pass on.

Call centre 24hr and based in Gateshead.
Had to call once when 1st setting up.
Fast service with understandable staff.
No foreigners with strong accents like ebay staff

Who mentioned them droplet, do you need a visa and passport to visit there.
Discrimination lol - grow up and buy a dictionary lol
You ever called paypal before.
Its a nightmare. Humans sound like automated vocorded computers

Yep, Paypal are a nightmare.
We used to send items to America which take longer than one would expect to arrive.
So the customer starts moaning and looking for their cash back through Paypal, and if they've paid by credit card too your bank account gets frozen.
Orrible it is.

Droplet's the nipper Phil🙂

P.s. Best one I ever had was a tozzer from Gloucester open up a paypal claim stating item never received.
During the course of the claim they emailed me to say the item should have been sent first class, not second class.
I asked them if you never recieved the item, how'd you know we sent it second class!
I then went onto google earth: found the nearest pub to thier house, and told them I had some Scottish relations that use your local, mentioning the pub by name.
Never had a paypal dispute dropped so fast🙂

Totally agree with wetdrip #23. Paypal being a EU bank can freeze your bank account and always side on the side of the buyer which is why I use a 2nd account with very little money in it when buying & selling on fleabay. Would never run a business account through them.

We use payatrader, although never got around to the mobile machines, just take payment over phone through the office. They do a standalone machine though with a roaming sim for 1.50 a week which seems good value.

The rates vary depending on usage which is good for installs.

If if anyone is interested I would appreciate you letting me have a referral from you.
