I'm sat here bored staring at my flush machine doing its business and got wondering. My old company used to install a new boiler then flush. My current one flushes then installs the boiler. I understand the logic of my new one but what about all the flux from installing new pipework? Surely x400 in a week before install then a flush after install is better or am I missing something? What order do you guys do?

For me it depends on the install. If it's a manky old open vent system, it gets power flushed before with heat.

If it's a combiswap. It gets done after with a magnacleanse.

Each on its own merits!

Some power flushed but only if absolutely necessary.

I do most the old way, chemical in a few days to a week before job if the boilers working and it's dirty ! Then get it hot, drop it out change boiler and a hot flush with fresh water after boilers fitted to make sure flux is gone.

Old fashioned but works well !

This

Plus I throw a drain off on the flow, shut the isolation valves on boiler an fill through the return an do each rad on its own.

all depends on the system.

Last one was an old fuelsaver out and cdi compact in. Boiler was in garage with iso valves above, so isolated, capped f and e tank and flushed while old boiler was taken out and new one fitted and piped, then just hot flush with mc3 to clear flux etc from new pipe.

other times it is chemical in a few weeks before, then drained, new boiler fitted then hot flush etc.

I don't like the sound of commissioning a new boiler on an old system and then powerflush the old crap out the new boiler. Proper flush before new boiler goes in and quick flush before adding inhibitor.
Alternatively don't worry mate we just put the old oil out your car in your new car, drive it once around the block, drain it and put new oil in.
