Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my outside loo (yes, some old houses still have them!) I can hear the sound of water running through the pipe which runs into the cistern. It is like the noise the cistern makes after being flushed but when it is almost re-filled (a low level noise if you see...
Hi guys
Firstly...go easy on me! I’m a site basher, I’ve installed loads of Concealed cisterns but never had to fix one! I’m venturing into the world of domestic maintenance and it’s nerve wracking!
So is it really possible to change a flush valve through the hole where the flush plate is...

Hi - problem with cistern shown - installed around 15 years ago and has been trouble free until recently. Water inlet is now VERY slow - takes around 30 minutes to fill half cistern. Water pressure to all other taps and wc's is fine. Guessing inlet unit blocked in some way but unsure of how...
Hi all.
I got home this evening and found that my toilet cistern was barely filling up so I turned off the mains, managed to unscrew the torbeck valve and gave it a clean as there seemed to be a lot of grime and grit in and around the pinhole looking valve. Put it all back on and it fills up at...
Dudley japtic syphon. The first flush works fine, the cistern fills up fully straight afterwards, but when you try to flush again it doesn't flush. You can try a few more times and it still won't flush. Leave it 3-4 minutes and it flushes fine again.
Should I just replace the syphon or washer...
Hi everyone and thanks for having me as a member. I hope I'm in the right place, being an amateur!
We have a Grohe old-style Eau2 concealed toilet, about 11 years old, that has started running water after it has flushed. I assumed it was the seal at the bottom of the flush valve as that had...
I have replaced a whole new Grohe WC wall hung toilet integrated frame and cistern and still have the same problem, a small leak into the toilet pan. Going crazy as no one can tell me why this is happening. Grohe thought it was their problem even though had not experienced it before, but...
Hey all, and Merry Christmas!
I purchased a Wirquin Concealed Cistern, and was wondering is there a recommend height from toilet that I should install? Just asking as seen a video of a guy saying he installs them high for a better flush, thing is I don't want it too high as will sit in a...
Homeowner here trying to solve central heating problems. Just realized hot water pouring into the central heating expansion cistern from CH supply pipe vent, am I right in thinking that essentially the boiler is producing more hot water than it knows what do with and this is causing some to go...
Hi All,
I have an apparently very common issue (water won't stop flowing into toilet) with a concealed cistern. I've looked at a few videos and googled quite a lot, but I'm drawing a blank so I was hoping someone might have an idea...
I've attached a couple of pictures. You push the plate...
I have a Villeroy & Bosch cistern with a Geberit dual push button valve - about 15 years old.
After flushing, the cistern refills to about halfway and stops. Then, the valve seems to randomly allow a bit more water through. There's no indication that the cistern gets more than about 2/3 full...
A concealed cistern has a small leak from where the flushpipe joins the flushvalve. I have not seen this type previously but the large round cover would appear to be out of alignment. Is it designed to unscrew from a thread? Anyone care to explain as to how it can be removed?
Thanks in advance.
I'm plumbing and gas but looking for a while. WC cistern which I can fill with maximum water on my own building a extension with a very shallow fall on the drains about 1 in 100 so I'm looking for maximum water discharge to help flush through on every flush I know on some cisterns I can fit a...
The initial problem was that the 'quick' flush was not working but the full flush was fine.
In the process of investigating, I am now at the point where the 2 tubes - one green, the other clear - have come out of where they go somewhere down below. I tied up the float to cut off the water inlet...
Hi all, just need help with a head scratcher. Got a call to a close coupled cistern losing water, every hour or so the ballvalve drops to refill it. Theres no leak visible (this has been going on for a year) and no water is passing by the siphon into the pan. I dried the pan and left toilet roll...
