Checking the boiler before winter, I have found the condensate trap contains a lot of grit, rather like sand. I don't think that's normal, but what is it likely to be? It works normally, but keeps losing pressure, about 1 bar every 3-4 days, with no signs of escaping water. I keep topping it up...
What is the vote as to the quietest condensate pump? I have a customer who has just bought a house with an ageing Grundfos unit in the bedroom cupboard and is complaining of being woken in the night.
Thanks guys
Hi all!
I have (not for the first time) a problem with my Ideal Icos HE12 boiler!
A month or so ago I had the "FL" error code, which I think means "Flame Failure". I had Gas Safe engineer out and said that the condensate/water for some reason wasn't draining away properly. He rang Ideal...
]Hopefully someone can help me :)
i have a customer that has a perished non return valve on a ideal 159991 condensate pump but it has no part number and I have tried searching google with no success. Does any one know the part number for to or where I could get one from?
I will try ringing...
Some boiler manufacturers and industry guidance says that you can boss a condensate pipe for a condensing boiler into a washing machine standpipe. Is this assuming the washing machine standpipe is actually still being used by the washing machine?
I'm just wondering if a washing machine pump...
Hi there
My first post on the forum ! Would very much appreciate your help.
i have a Worcester and Bosch Greenstar 440 highflow and for the past 24 hours the condensate pump has been making a constant noise, like it is always trying get rid of condensate. Air bubbles are visible in the...
Would this cause a boiler to cut off after about 5 minutes of it being on? Or would it not fire at all if the condensate was blocked? Have this problem with a greenstar 28. Pump is ok and done the usual checks and unsure what is wrong.
What would a condensate pipe being unsealed be classed as? For example the condensate rubber flexi hose just being put into a bit of 32mm waste pipe instead of the jubilee clip onto Condy pipe then into a 32mmx21.5mm reducer?
Hi chaps,
Having to install acondensate pump below my new boiler and I'm a bit unsure of how towire this in. Boiler is a Worcester Bosch 28kW Compact and I have aHoneywell CM900 RF stat wired into the set up for heating control.
Purchased a GrundfosConlift1 to pump away the condensate...
Ok so whilst subcontracting i put this boiler in a year ago.
I used old condensate pipe as there was (and still is no access.) It comes strait out and turns, running about 2 foot horizontal, then turns again to run down and terminates into a 4" soil stack. Total of about 4 foot with a couple...
Hi all, I think this subject has been done to death, however! My drain routes outside the property ending in the drain down pipe out side house, I want to re-route it internally to the bath drain, (a distance of maybe 75 cms) making it less likely to freeze and less clutter on the side of the...
hi,
having read through this forum I've noticed that others have also had noise problems with condensate pumps for boilers.
I've had our plumber try two different models of pump and both are noisey so we can't have heating start before we wake up or when the kids are in bed! I'd expect a...
At present Heatsave combi in bathroom with condensate with long run outside in 3/4".
Plan is to connect internally to existing 32mm waste from basin. Bottom of boiler is slightly lower than top of basin.
If I connected under floor boards using a tee and a bung to reduce to 3/4 I could run 3/4"...
What kind of mens appendage installed this. How can you even try to plumb a large condensate pump into a FB at the same level.
Ill have to fit one of those internal ones, but have found them unreliable.
Anyone any other thoughts (short of changing the boiler or excavating the ground?)
I've not seen this type of filing loop? is it an old type thingy or some form of improvisation?
also, the electric power cable seems to have a dodgy connection and is going behind the pipes...is this ok as i would personally never do that as it's next to pipes that become very very hot..
oh...
Hi guys.
currently fitting a boiler but condensate is looking to be a pain
near to the outside of the flue is the rain water down pipe but it runs to a designated soak away and not combined drainage.
now the foul drainage for this place is a bio digester that then runs to the same soakaway...
Hi guys,
got a job coming up where one of the issues is the kitchen fitter connected a condensate pipe to a washing machine standpipe by drilling a 22mm hole and siliconing the condensate pipe from the combi into that...
Surprise surprise - it is now leaking.
I would like to know if regs are...
I'm putting in the drain pipe work for a boiler above a washing machine.
Worcester-Bosch show the condensate pipe connected with a Y after the trap, but as the trap will be quite low done for the washing machine, I'm not sure if this is practical.
Is this arrangement OK?
Many Thanks
JAMES
Hi,
Hopefully someone can offer some advice. Recently we had a new Combi Boiler fitted (a Worcester Greenstar 28 Condensor Boiler). The engineer decided it was best to install the condensate pipe under the floor to prevent freezing.
A couple of days after the install we left for a short...
