Hi,
I need the gas supply to my gas fire capped as I want to remove my gas fire. I attach a photo of the elbow restrictor, which has a shut off valve underneath it. I have been given a 'provisional estimate' of £150 for the job by one gas safe engineer (which makes me think that he doesn't...
hi guys, came across my first valiant combi. I couldn't figure out how to get high fire and low fire to check my ratios and co2.
There wasn't a manual.
Any advice?
I'm used to Worcester boilers.
Worcester danesmoor.
Customer ring to say they have been resetting the boiler for weeks.
Ran out of oil and sucked sludge right through from the tank, right into the pump.
Cleaned out and got it to go, but fitting a new pump on Thursday .
hi guys went to replace a leaky oil flexi hose today which it beers leaking for some time.. So when I fired the boiler on it was if it was struggling to fire up and there was a grinding noise too. Would this be a new oil pump? I'll be doing my oftec at the end of this month. Cheers to all you...
I had a new glass-fronted gas fire installed a few months ago, not long after I moved into my bungalow. About half an hour after turning the fire on I hear a loud pop or crack coming from the wall where the fire is. I hear this roughly once every half an hour. I also hear this noise a couple of...
Hi all,
I'm a member of the public with a persistent problem with a gas fire that's been looked at a couple of times and is still not right. I'm not looking to repair it myself but just want a bit of impartial input before I spend any more on it!
Basically it's a new (less than one year old)...
Need to get someone in to change motor on valve as no hot water unless valve is manually locked open but it may be a while as plumbers busy.
Will locking the valve open cause the boiler to fire or is it the thermostat that fires the boiler? Currently using immersion but would prefer gas as...
Hello
I'm doing a gas engineers course and I'm struggling to find any work experience for cooker and gas fire installations. Seems nobody wants new gas fire these days. I'm looking for someone to take me on a job just so I can complete my assignment. I'm based in London and I'm happy to pay if...
I have inherited what looks similar to the current Gazco Eclipse gas fire but the sellers left no instructions. I have had 3 gas engineers in the house but none are familiar with the model and specifically how it is opened/accessed to begin with. One did say it looks like an allen key...
Ive just shut off a Main madrigal gas fire because the gas valve is jamming and not shutting off the gas when the pilot is extinguished.
I cant get a replacement valve because of the age of the fire. G.C. 32-477-65.
How easy is it to service these valves, what will I need and what is the success...
Hi all,
Cant get the boiler to fire up, thus no heating. Messed a bit with it earlier today, and re-programmed the Danfoss controller, and it worked.
Heating was on, and then went off on time, but didnt kick in on the next cycle. Tried setting temp up high on thermostat, and turning electrics...
I have never needed to do one. My customer had her boiler and fire serviced. I failed the gas fire as it was spilling. I said it could be cobwebs. She has now had the chimney cleaned. I have been back refitted the fire and tested. Passed both tests. Do I re-issue a cp12? or is there another form...
Our CO alarms went off the other day. I did all the tests in manafacters instructions plus a few more to ensure fire is safe to use.
I conducted a combustion gas analysis and it threw up a surprising result.
CO2 6.0
Co 350
Ratio 0.0065
Now I would not usually feel happy about leaving this...
Has anyone recently done a LGSC at a house with a Coalbrookdale fire in it?
What did you test? I know its not a gas appliance but it still burns solid fuel and produces CO2. Any insight would be good. Thanks.
Vaillant Turbomax VUW 242E.
Fires fine on heating, turn on hot tap and burner goes out.
So it’s recognising there’s s call for h/w.
Could this be the diverter valve or more likely the micro switch?
Hot water is achieved with heating on apparently. Anyway to check the diverter on this boiler?
Dear all,
My wife and I are replacing a woodburner with a gas fire. It's a long story but the woodburner was a bad idea. We have used the woodburner for only 4-5 months (one winter). Now that we are having the gas fire fitted, the engineer says that we need a new chimney lining because it's...
Good afternoon,
Apologies if this has been asked/answered else ware - I have had a thorough search but just not quite found the answer!
I removed a radiator at the weekend - by shutting off the mains water, turning off each valve, removing the radiator and then draining each side of the...
