Hi guys.
a few questions.
I’ve got a blocked system and am looking at a power flush to resolve it. Heat is getting to the flow tails and into the rads but I’d say at 50% of what they should be. Had a plumber attained and do everything possible ie check valves, TRVs, cleaned out rads with a...
Dear all
I’m a home owner looking for advice.
I recently had a power flush which was unsuccessful at clearing a blocked pipe. I do appreciate these things are not guaranteed.
My question is does time taken reflect on outcome?
The reason I need to understand this is the company employed...
Hi
The push button on my Wirquin flush stuck so in trying to release it I managed to break the button! See photos.
As it's also leaking into the pan should I just replace the whole mechanism?
If so, what is a good replacement?
And is it easy to replace?
Thanks for any help.
Steve
My house has consistently been plagued by leaky dual action cisterns since I bought it. The fact that the cisterns are firmly hidden away behind plasterboard walls with nothing but a small access hole where the faceplate of the cistern is located has never helped. I have finally taken the...
Replaced like for like flush valve in Ideal Standard cistern, but do not seem to get more than half filled, giving insufficient water for flushing, even with float (OK) at maximum. As existing valve was already fitted when renting the property have no idea whether it was correct for the cistern...
I need to replace my existing pneumatic button flush, as the rubber diaphragm that lifts the flush mechanism is leaking, and was wondering whether I should go for another pneumatic, or are cable ones more reliable?
The outlet hole seems to be 40mm internally, but the pipe looks to be 50mm...
We have a Glowworm BBU56F (back boiler). Its well-maintained/serviced and since we’ve been in the property (15 years) only the Thermocouple was replaced in July of this year, otherwise has been running fine.
We’ve not had heating/hot water for a month now, and with 2 young kids/unwell missus...
Hi, I'm having a new boiler installed as part of grant scheme in a few weeks' time. My GCH stopped working about 7 years ago and I couldn't afford to keep fixing it - at the time my boiler was only about 3 years old, but was told after about 3 fixes that it was sludged up and needed a power...
Hello folks,
Our push button toilet won't flush properly most of the time, if you push the button it makes a half-hearted attempt, but gives up; sometimes you have to push it quickly 3 or 4 times and it eventually flushes; occasionally it just won't do a proper flush and you have to leave it for...
I have replaced the sealing washer to a Grohe Adagio flushvalve (42137) as water was constantly leaking from the concealed cistern. It now is holding the water fine but there is a problem with the flush itself, which was not a problem previously. Flushing requires two or three presses (of the...
Does anyone know of a decent flush valve to fit the Ideal Standard SPACE cistern, that is better than the piece of carp fitted as OE please?
It has to fit onto the specific sized flush pipe which has an outside diameter of 50mm.
Many thanks.
Forgive me is this is a stupid thought!
I'm looking to flush dirty water out of an F&E system. Can I attached a hosepipe to the lowest drain off point and simply drain off water outside without turning off the water supply to the F&E tank? So my thinking is that it may take some time but...
Hi all
I've got an inbuilt pneaumatic push button cistern (came with the house) and the full flush is not working. The half flush works but isn't great. When I take off the cover plate I can unscrew the 'thing' from the cover plate and when I manually use my finger to push in the plunger...
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how to thread this cable, on an optima 50 dual flush button?
This mechanism is shown just under the button nut (c) on page 1: http://www.siamp.co.uk/wp-content/downloads/manuals/50_5531_00_LD.pdf
Thanks in advance
Hi all
I own a Grundfos Sololift 2 and today today the macerator has been behaving odd. It seems to run for a long time (at least a minute) to flush the waste after I used the toilet. Also it has become very sensitive and even turns on more often when I run the tap. I'm wondering if you guys...

Hi folks,
New thread so any help appreciated. My rubber diaphragm bellow for macdee quick flush toilet comes apart when flushing my toilet. It then proceeds to never stop running in to the toilet. I put the bellow back together and it fixes itself but not for long as it keeps happening. Are...
