Hi All,
Kitchen mixer tap (see image) is dripping and it's driving me nuts! I can't find a good enough description of the type of tap it is to find a link on You Tube and work out how to change the washer.
Any links or generic advice on what needs to be done to change the washer (after I've...
I need to replace my kitchen tap and these are the existing pipes - any suggestions?
I was going to cut just above the connection with a pipe slice, install the new tap with flexi pipes and then connect it up with compression fittings/PTFE tape.
Does that sound sensible?!
Thanks.
My daughter is having a kitchen extension and the boiler is going to be fitted on an inside wall with the flu running around 20 feet along the top of her new kitchen cupboards and out the wall. I think it’s a normal combi boiler (maybe Valiant).
Is this normal and are there any safety...
Our kitchen sink waste basket plug is broken and I can find one that looks the same type anywhere. I've attached pictures of the half sink plug for illustration, as it's complete and works the same way. This plug twists and drops to make a seal, or pulls up and turns slightly to stay in drain...
Good afternoon. I have an intermittent leak on a “valve”(?) just above the cold water stopcock under the kitchen sink. It appears to be only leaking for a short period after using the kitchen sink. Can anyone advise what this valve is and is it easy to replace. This has obviously been going on...
Hi there,
So I have thrown several methods of drain cleaning from each side of the sink which has improved the issue but it still persists.
When draining larger amounts of water from the kitchen sink, or when the washing machine drains out, water starts backing up and coming out at point one...
Hi
I have got the following cold water and hot water connection to my exisiting monobloc tap. This is all new to me (apologies for being a noob) and I am trying to fit in a new monobloc tap but I'm not sure which part I should hold with one spanner and which part I should turn with the other...
Hi Guys,
We have a leaky kitchen mixer tap here which seems to be being caused by the plastic mixer valve/cartridge.
I had a search for the serial number but couldn't find anything matching so I thought I would take the valve apart, clean it and grease it up to see if that sorts it out.
As it...
This is how our Builders’s plumber has installed the pipe work under our kitchen sink. It is at the front leaving little room for storage, the dishwasher is connected, it’s an old cabinet that has been moved forward into our new extension until we can afford new units. Is this how it should look...
Hi everyone, my kitchen sink plug won't stay open! It’s really frustrating. It’s held up by a little plastic hoop around the shaft, and friction is supposed to stop it closing. But it’s too easy to close – just running water will close it, and I have to hold it open all the time I want to empty...
Hi all,
Has anyone come across a kitchen sink overflow that would fit a ceramic sink? They all seem to be made for stainless steel (the one I picked up from the merchant didn't have threads long enough to fix through the overflow hole).
Thanks
Jennie
Hello all hope you can help, I'm not a plumber so please excuse any incorrect terminology I use ha. I have a Blanco mixer kitchen tap that camp as a kit with a Blanco sink. The current Aerator? is just a standard plastic thread on piece and is the original one that came with the tap. The...
I’m in the process of changing the cartridge on my Hans Grohe kitchen tap (pull out hose type). I’ve managed to remove the remove the handle, but can’t get the deco ring. The written instructions and demonstrations on YouTube videos show it simply popping off with a flathead screwdriver (as...
Hi, i'm a complete newcomer to plumbing so be gentle, basically i'd like to change the kitchen taps (just a simple monobloc mixer tap) and have looked on YouTube and think I have everything ready.
I've had a look at the system and it seems to be setup to include an expansion vessel (image...
Tried running the hot tap then checking to see what the water temp of the drip was after and it was cold so to me that means the leak is from the cold water valve side. Replaced the cold water ceramic disc cartridge but the drip is still there (even when I turn off the mains but don't fancy...
Hello
I live in Spain, on the 4rth Floor (last floor) of an older building. I was so happy to get an upper floor, cause I know the low floors often suffer from smelly problems here
However I sometimes have a horrible smell in my kitchen...a smell that suddenly comes up...AND on top it always...
My kitchen waste pipe discharges into a pipe going to my soakaway. It has now unsurprisingly become blocked (about 6 m from the drain). The soil pipe from the toilet to my septic tank passes underground about 1 m away from the end of the kitchen waste pipe with a good enough slope for the...
Hi everyone, I have a question about domestic hot water via a combi boiler and how it differs in temperature in the kitchen and bathroom. (The DHW temp gauge on the combi boiler is in the middle-all incoming water into the flat is mains fed)
In the kitchen when I turn the mixer tap all the way...
