Installed when the house was built in the 70's.
Does anyone know where can I get a replacement cover ? (or gasket) ?
It's not the same shape as ones I've seen online with 4 fixing screws, it has a centre bolt to remove the cover.
Cheers
Found out recently that toilet has been leaking slowly, under oil cloth covering. Insurance won't pay out. Says it has been going on too long. ( what we thought was overflowing bath or shower, was actually from toilet connection). Floor boards are destroyed and obviously plaster coning off...
Hi all,
Had a plumber come round today to service our boiler and it turns out he's had to turn it off as unsafe due to some water leaking on the outside of the flue pipe. At the time the plumber said that the instillation was done terribly and that if I really wanted I could report the job as...
Hi,
Really hoping someone could advice me on a leak issue I'm having.
We have a macerator type set up for our ensuite, that joins to the main soil pipe in the loft. The connector where the pipe from macerator meets the main soil pipe is not water tight, and therefore excess water is flowing...
Hi
I have a leak from one of the pipes, going into the hot water cylinder, in the airing cupboard. There are 2 pipes going into the cylinder on the left hand side, (I think it is called a vented cylinder - colder water tank in loft) and it is the top pipe which is leaking, (the one with yellow...
Hi all
I have a Bristan shower fitted which is leaking from the bar valve and from the removable shower head. On the bar valve the leak seems to be coming from the white seal. I’ve tried using plumbers putty which hasn’t helped. So I took the bar off the wall to see if there were any issues and...
It looks as though the bath plug is leaking even though the water is dripping further up the basin as it were (i.e. in the direction of the overflow pipe/towards the camera) and not from the area immediately around the plug. I'm not too confident in replacing the plug (visions of flooding after...
Looking for a bit of advice regarding the shower diverter valve on my bathtaps. Pictures attached.
Problem is that when I run the taps to fill the bath (diverter is in its default depressed position) I get water leaking from the top of the valve which trickles out and makes a bit of a mess...
Ok bare with me total novice..
Water leaking heavily at times, does stop though? From the valve that alters the temperature in picture.
Have closed valve other side, and water continues to leak with heating off or on and with this thermostat to off or on. So basically isolated I think and off...
I have an AAV connected to my stack in the loft and it has 'ventapipe 50' markings on the top. I noticed some water on the top of the pipe where the seal is on the pipe and wondered how it was getting there. I have then looked up into the AAV and there is quite a bit of condensation (well i...
So I have a question here and I’m completely lost, I had a shower screen replaced as it shattered. The fitter came and fit the new wall profile to the wall then fitted the glass and then sealed it with silicone. When I first used it it started leaking from the bottom corner as shown in the...
So, got a lot of water leaking from my boiler. (Old Worcester 28CDI)
Looking underneath it appears to be from the isolation valve (at the point where you close or open it)
I've switched off my water supply, and turned off the heating for now as I'm about to go to bed.
Question is, is this...
Hi, The mixing tap swivel in my bathroom sink has began to leak. Can anyone tell me if it's repairable or if it needs replaced. I attached a few photos. Is it possible to remove it from the top and add a new seal.
Hi all,
Boiler has been losing pressure for overnight for a couple of days. Was at a loss, but have just found this on the pipe loop outside of the house in line with where the boiler is sited. What is its purpose?
Second pic is where I presume the pipe comes from. It connects to the very Last...
Hi all,
Just wondering how you'd all tackle this. (I'm a bit of a lone plumber, so don't get to discuss jobs generally).
Customer has sent me pics of a quadrant floor-level shower tray. He's just moved into the house, and discovered the shower tray leaks (water through ceiling below). It...
I have a shower over the bath, the tiling was done after the bath was fitted and as far as I can work out there must be a gap between the bath and the wall. During a shower the water drips through the kitchen ceiling below. I have sealed it many, many times, and I've currently resorted to thick...
I have a Plimex ball valve that is the inside stop tap for the mains supply that has recently started leaking.
It’s only 2 years old (when property was renovated) and suspect it could be due to thermal cycling with the cold weather.
Access is restricted as the pipe work was put behind a plywood...
I've read and used some valuable info. over the years on here so thanks for that. However I need some more direct info. if possible. I have an old but reliable Worcester/Bosch 2.4i combi boiler, but recently I've noticed a leak from the central heating flow isolation valve. I've tried Fernox...
Hi, hoping someone can help. We have a dual fuel towel rail, i.e. connected to the central heating, but with an electric element in one of the "legs". The bottom of the other leg is leaking around what I assume is a blanking plug. This plug has a large hex socket, and I've tried tightening it...
I have a sealed bath that is leaking into my kitchen when emptied, unfortunately the pervious owner has tiled all around the bath without leaving an access panel to the pipework/drain . is their a liquid sealant that i can use to fix the leak or do i have to remove all the tiles . I have tired...
