Hi all.
I have just looked at a job where the customer requires a wc and basin fitted in an elderly relative's room 7meters away from the soil stack in the kitchen.
I have decided to fit a Sanitop macerator to pump the waste up to the ceiling and run 22mm pipe through the joists to the soil...
Working away up north at the moment in what must be the oldest Travelodge going! Anyway, went to have a shower earlier and I was showering away when an overflow elbow poking out of the tile low in the corner caught my eye. Have never seen this done before, was it sometimes the way before the...
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum as you will see below.
I have a multifuel gravity system with an electric immersion heater in the cylinder.
The external overflow has a constant drip all year round.
I've been in the loft where there are x3 tanks, the largest I assume is the main cold...
I was asked to buy a beige bowl and a half kitchen sink for a customer to replace his old Franke sink. I bought an Astracast and half way through fitting it I noticed there was no overflow so I rang Astracast and she said the smaller bowl was the overflow and said to tell the customer not to...
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone knew weather or not an overflow/warning pipe connected to the CWSC and F&E tank in the loft needed to be insulated? Can't find anything in building regs or WRAS. I could be missing something though.
Thanks in advance :-)
Hey guys,
Recently managed to get shot of an awful bath I purchased stupidly from one of the DIY chains... now looking at some Carron ones.
There's so many baths with a curved end at the taps these days and the one thing that's bugging me crazy is how do people out there fit the overflow...
Hi, I'm not sure if this should be in plumbing or heating section, so apologies if I have posted in wrong forum
I have 2 cold water storage tanks in loft, & the smaller one, which I understand to be the water supply for a vented heating system, is constantly dripping via the overflow outside...
Hi I noticed yesterday water pouring out from a pipe from the top of our house its leaking water over the garden and its on and off occurring.
I think its the overflow pipe since it appears connected to the water tank in my attic, so I made a trip up there and moved the top cover of the...
Hi I have a small tank in the roof for the heating. When the heating is on for the rads and the cylinder the overflow start running. could this be a blocked pipe ?
Hi all, hope someone can help me with this ongoing problem. The central heating overflow pipe drips constantly even with central heating off and water cold with no immersion on. Its an oil fired 30 year old system which also has a back boiler. I have emptied small tank to well below overflow...

Just been to look at a overflow problem at kids day care centre. The c/w cistern kept filling to point of overflow. I checked valve and replaced washer and float as both were looking dated. Dropped water level and left it for a few hours. Went back and level is back up and overflowing again. As...
HI, thanks in advance for your time. I hope you can give me some advice...
A large part of our area (Bracknell) had its water supply cut off this morning. The water is now back on, but every so often water from the cold tank in the loft escapes through the overflow pipe. I run the cold tap...
Few days ago I tried to clean TF1 filter on my boiler but something gone wrong the pressure went to high and there was a BANG ,the water discharged via overflow pipe and now the boiler is loosing pressure and the water is dripping slowly trough overflow ,any idea what went wrong ??Would it be...
Hi, A few weeks ago I got a plumber out to look at my Baxi combi boiler which kept losing water pressure a few times a day and affected the central heating, I`d noticed the outside relief overflow pipe had water leaking out due to the pressure shooting up each time I repressurised the boiler...
Hi all,
I've heard it is quite common for over flow pipes on CWSCs to block.
Is this true?
In which case, how and why do they get blocked? And how would you test it (ie, hold the ball valve down and force the water to overflow)?
Do you routinely test the overflows when fitting a new FOV...
Hi folks, I'm new to this forum, so hopefully you can help me.
The water in my overflow tank is roasting hot, I'm wondering if anybody would have any answers for me.
My system is very complicated, I have a storage tank, but I haven't got a hot press tank. I've also have my system plumbed up to...
