Hello, I have a traditional “disc” type cutter that you wind down onto the copper pipe but I’m told it’s best to have a cutter or “slice” that leaves a chambered edge on the copper pipe so it clears the plastic fitting O ring. Can anyone recommend the best cutter for 22mm and 28mm copper pipe...
Doing some decorating I discovered that some of the central heating pipe work is grey plastic. System installed 20 years ago by previous owners. My question is was that normal practice back then and is it likely to cause any problems in future? All exposed pipe work to rads is copper.
Hi Folks,
I am new to the forum. I am from Blackburn, UK.
I have a leak under the boiler, I am not 100% sure but I think it is the condense pipe that feeds from the boiler to outside. I have a couple of pictures. It is the white plastic pipe and the leak is around the u-bend. Please can you...
I've had no problems with my boiler in the last 6 years. A couple of weeks ago it started slowly dripping from the plastic part shown in the picture. I have temporarily put a bucket underneath this and we've had to repressurise the boiler once.
Any ideas what this part is? It looks like I could...
I would like to remove compression coupling to gain access to external waste pipe. I can remove both ends by twisting but the middle section does not move away. Do I need to apply more force?

My question is : once i...
Hi, a stopcock has seized and I need to replace it but the pipe is an unusual rubber/ plastic material. It’s approximately an inch ID. Has anyone got any advice for replacement compatible fittings? Will it need inserts etc?

Is I believe what this is. Posted a pic of some a while back and think Shaun identified it thus.
Want to change the inlet and float valve the pipework pictured feeds. I know in both instances I could change washer but want to have a plan B and C.
Am I likely to find that my fibre washers, hep...
I've got to move a radiator in a garden centre that's been installed using press fit fittings, not sure what they are or exactly what pipe or fittings have been used it is but it looks about 15mm to the naked eye. Any idea if Im likely to be able to use compression fittings or speed fit on the...
Hello, I am having my heating installed, the guys are using 10mm Polypipe from a manifold type setup.
We have couple of points where the pipe goes down a chased wall - is it ok to plaster straight over the 10mm polypipe - they tell me it's OK or should the pipe be embedded in trunking or is...
The central heating in our house has been installed using 10mm Speedfit Barrier PB pipe.
I think there is a leak in the pipework behind some plaster board (dot and dab) as there is a damp patch on the plasterboard (looks like a nail may have been put through it).
If it is a nail hole, I guess I...
Does anyone have any information on how many BTU 10mm plastic can carry?

Its for HEP20 pipe and there is nothing in their...
Hi, still very new to this forum - this is my 2nd posting. Please help if you can. I am replacing round head taps with lever taps (am recently retired and have too much time on my hands!) and have fitted a new hot tap no probs. The cold tap has slightly different pipework - a white plastic...
I have a Fernox TF1 made of plastic. It always seems to leak a bit after being serviced and needs the joints tightened up. Occasionally it has leaked quite a lot (enough for a puddle after being unnoticed for a while). I don't like the top cap which has threads that are stiff and awkward (even...
