What is the ideal pump size for Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 400 15kW Heat Only Boiler? The property is a studio with 1 large room, a small kitchen and a small bathroom.
I've been advised to use Grundfos UPS3 15-50/65-130.
Is Britherm pump a better choice than Grundfos for
Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 400 15kW Heat Only Boiler
Wiring is SPlan and the intention is to install Grundfos UPS3 15-50/65-130
Hi everyone,
We have had issues with our Grundfos UPS3 15-50/65 130 ever since installation. The builders created 3 sections in one space. Two in the kitchen and the third in the living room. The 3 sections have never worked in unison so one was disabled to leave one for the whole kitchen and...
Vaillant ecoFIT 415 open vent heat only boiler. For wiring the boiler and pump, should I use the 3-way wire switch" solution OR a "remote switching" solution? The pump and copper tank are situated about 25ft from the boiler. I've been told that the 3-way cable solution doesn't work well with...
I'm planning to get an air source heat pump (ASHP) installed and I'm considering my options about the location of the water cylinder as I live in a small house and space is a premium. I was thinking about building a small insulated shed about 20 to 25 metres away from the house to put the...
We are installing solar power irrigation systems for smallholding farmers in Rural Ghana,
We have 12V DC 0.18kW (max 20A) pumps, there only power source will be a voltage varying from 15-20V coming from solar panels.
The boreholes are narrow, therefore is not much room for a float switch,
The...
have moved a pump by new boiler so could wire for pump overrun as no live in airing cupboard, but now I am worried about air ingress into the system as system is under negative pressure.
Anyone got any tricks to help prevent this?? or know how to get pump over to airing cupboard without...
Hello does anyone know what this pipe is which diverges from the main pipe after the central heating pump. It seems to connect to the return pipe from the cylinder, so I guess it isn't a bypass?
Hi everyone
Some very helpful people on this forum (hi John.g) sorted me out with some issues with a faulty installation of a Grundfos UPS3 back in Oct/Nov 2021.
My CH system has been running like a dream ever since. Until this evening.
For months we have been switching heat and/or water...
Hi, I have noticed recently that when the central heating, set at 60 on boiler, goes off the pump no longer overruns for the period of 3 minutes like it always has. Is this a problem? With the dhw it does the 1 minute overrun still.
Thanks.
Hello
I have a salon and the plumbing for the hair wash basins is taken from the toilet, so when we are washing hair and the water is a good temperature, when the pump goes the water goes cold it takes a wile to come back. It used to do it a bit and now its much worse.
A plumber said it cant be...
I have a 23 year old Megaflo heating and hot water system powered by the original Thermecon oil boiler. One of the most common kinds of faults I get with this system is the continually running circulating pump.
The upstairs and downstairs CH are separate circuits each with their own Danfoss...
Hi
We have an UFH system part of the house (large kitchen / dinnner and utility room) and then Rad system for rest of house (10 rads).
We have noticed in this recent cold weather when both UFH and Rad are on (ie thermostatic driven) the UFH is robbing all the hot water and not getting round...
Hi all,
After trying to solve my boiler problem via YouTube as my usual plumber wasn't available, I have stupidly dropped Grundfos bleed screw below the boiler and it has fallen through a gap which is inaccessible.
Is there anywhere I can buy spares for this part only or someone who could...
Evening, just had new boiler and Ch pump. 24hrs later noticed pump was constantly pumping despite schedule being off. Only way to stop it was to turn boiler off, opened airing cupboard to notice slight wet patch from a leaking valve near pump. Fitter sent someone out who drained system and...
My boiler struggled to circulate throughout my house so my heating engineer installed an auxilliary pump a few years ago. On a recent service he identified that the auxilliary pump was not working. He said that it was down to the motorised valve and he wants to charge £350 to replace it. He said...
Hi,
As per the thread title, I have an Ideal Logic Combi 30 and I am having a problem with the pump, which keeps activating without any DHW/DCH.
When the pump activates, it runs for exactly 4 minutes each time and this can happen as frequently as something like 5 times an hour or as...
Happy New Year everyone!
I need a little help on figuring out what's wrong with my central heating (CH) system. I'm in a new house, and I know the system has a single motorised diverter valve for hot water and radiators (rads). Problem is almost none of my rads get hot, except for 2 or 3 that...
Thanks for having me. New to radiant system as I’m from a forced air background. House has a gas boiler that works well thus far. Examining the setup I see two pumps, the grey unit appears to be the active pump when it kicks in. I’m not sure the role of the red unit.
My goal is to replace...
Do central heating pumps lose their strength over several years and is it worth taking it apart and servicing it?
Are the two seals either end 1 1/2 inch or 1 1/3 inch?
What's the latest central heating pump should I need to replace mine (photo) like for like?
