Hi All,

Before having a boiler replaced in the spring, I’m cleaning the system and upgrading the pipe work in the cellar, where the old boiler is. Following forum advice, I’m replacing the 10 meter run of pipes from the boiler to the start of the four existing 22mm Hep2o circuits (one per floor) with...
Hi, Diyer here looking for some experienced opinions… I have a 3 walled alcove which I can get a 1200mm shower tray in. Is it realistic to go for a static screen with possibly a 300mm hinged return addition. Or is that just too small and will I end up with water all over outside the shower...
So we are looking at a new vaillant ecofit pure 418 regular boiler but have a question about the gas pipe size requirements..
At the gas meter the pipe size is 15mm where it then runs under the kitchen floor before exiting at the the other side where the existing boiler is located (old baxi)...
Hi all,
I need to take a urinal off a panel to fit some plastic covering to the panel. Can someone tell me what size might be the nut holding the water outlet onto the urinal. It is an ideal standard.
Thanks
My bathroom tap is dripping water, I want to change the tap valve, but I don't know the valve size, if somebody familiar with the type of tap, please tell me the valve size. Thank you in advanced.
Recently replaced an enclosed cistern with one of the exact same size but the new push flush button (pneumatic) is far larger than the old one (cable-operated). We would prefer to keep the smaller button but have been told that the large button will be needed to effectively operate the cistern...
Some advice for a small charity if possible please.
I’ve been asked to reinstate a water heater into a building which is used infrequently, but on occasion has a group of people there using the basin in the washroom, and the kitchen sink (coloured red).
There was an old mains tank in the plant...
I have a 22mm gas pipe going from my meter in the garage to my boiler in the kitchen. It has a 15mm t off the 22mm for a gas cooker. There is 8.5m of 22mm plus 6 90 degree bends, easily accessible in the garage, and 5m in the kitchen that will be difficult to access. If i change the 22mm in the...
Hi,
We have an ecotech plus 837 in our house that was originally over rated on installation.
It was installed based on the hot water flow rate and told that the heating would modulate itself down accordingly.
This is the case in very cold weather but not when its a bit warmer.
It is now...
What hole size would you recommend drilling for 50mm waste pipe that needs to go through a joist?
Joist is 200 deep so a 55mm hole is already a bit over the recommended size for that joist.
Hello, I am looking to move some waste pipes in my house as I will be relocating a washing machine.
My question is what size waste pipe do I have. I have measured with a gauge and get 56.08mm on the outer diameter.
My understanding was the common sizes are 32, 40 and 50mm,
I am aware there...
Need a new boiler and have had a quotation from a local company who have recommended a 24Kw boiler. From the choices we have taken a Worcester Greenstar 24RI. However, I have a slight concern that this boiler may not be powerful enough as most articles on the web say it for use in a small or...
Hi I was initially having a Megaflo ( 170 L ) and a Worcester Bosch 30 ( RI System Boiler ) in a loft conversion The guy that was doing the work can no longer do it
so I was getting another quote for the same set up and the question came up again " why don't you have a Combi boiler (...
I am planning to get a new WC for the downstairs cloakroom in our house. We have two possible WCs in mind. Both have a cistern with a lever rather than a push button on the middle of the lid, which is what my wife and I prefer. I am concerned about the siphons supplied with the cisterns. I have...
Hi
I need to replace both hot/cold taps as they have done 20 years service, I looked at various sites and the thread size is quoted as "G1/2" now the dumb bit, is this referring to the copper pipe size thats fits into the tap or is it the external thread size f the tap.
Thanks for any info.
