I've just moved into a house for the first time where I don't just have a single heating zone. This house has a central timer unit and 4 room thermostats that control 4 Honeywell V4043H1056 valves beside an currently unidentified Johnson Starley combi boiler (although there is also a hot water...
Hi I am looking for a thermostatic bar mixer shower unit with dual heads to fit between inlet pipe centres and ceiling at 840mm any one reccomend a shower to suit please?
Hi Guys
Can someone please shed some light.
In my house all the taps have the hot water on the left, cold on the right.
The pipes which connect onto the shower mixer bar, the one on the left gets hot so it's the same as the taps.
On the mixer bar itself the left control has blue lines on it...
How do I check hot and cold water pressure on 15mm exposed copper pipe?
We have a Grohe Avensys (GROHE 34222000) from Aug 2018 which I fitted myself, to replace a Grohe Avensys Modern EV from that had stopped regulating temperature properly which I'd fitted in 2008.
The temperature regulation...
I won't go into the specifics here because it'd be far too long, but in a system I'm building I have two hot supplies - one between 25C and 35C, and one between 45C and 70C. (In short, I have two heat sources that perform differently under different conditions).
I want an output temperature of...
Hi, just want to make sure I'm going down the right route with this.
I've just installed a thermostatic mixer tap on my bath. When I tried it for the first time it buzzed (a fairly low buzz)
After a bit of research I found this could be caused by unequal pressure between HW and CW. I tested the...
Hi,
I've got a Drayton Thermostatic Head that is totally stuck on 0, i.e. can't twist it round. I've taken it off the radiator and it still won't twist at all, it's almost like it's locked somehow. Is there an easy way to free it? Thanks in advance.
I am building a new house and have the cold water pipes running to all my fixtures which are connected to the mains etc.....I also have hot water pipes running to the relevant fixtures, but...my heat pump has not been 'commissioned ' yet, so I at the moment do not have hot water available...
Hi. Our Mira Vigour thermostatic shower is starting to make a whining noise. It sounds very familiar! Eight years ago I ignored it and ended up having to replace the entire unit. Older and wiser (courtesy of the internet) I realise (now) that it needs new brushes; I've had the cover off and can...
Looking for some advice regarding my shower. Its a thermostatic bar type supplied by a combi boiler. Recently it has started running cold after approximately 1minute. Suspected a cartridge issue. Rather than replace cartridge I replaced entire bar. I still have the same issue. It runs fine...
Hi,
I have finally decided to swap out the stand alone taps in my bath for a mixer. I have previously been using a Croydex push-fit shower but think it's finally time to upgrade to a proper fitted one.
I have been looking at a deck-mounted thermostatic bath/shower mixer like this Vellamo Echo...
Hello. Currently in the process of changing an electric shower into a thermostatic mixer shower, its a bit of a long story with the builder but the existing shower area was basically bodged in to fit and tiled over concealing a few of the builders hacks into the plasterboard walls and getting...
Hi, I've just swapped out the old Aqualisa cartridge for the new, however when I went to turn the water inlet valves back on the cold was fine but I had no control over the hot. Meaning when I shut off the shower the hot water would keep flowing.
Any thoughts gratefully received as I am...
I am replacing a new shower cartridge on a Alterna Amala concentric thermostatic mixer valve
I was sent the wrong part , so i am awaiting the replacement .However when i reassembled the old one i was unable to move the shower lever ..So my question is when i fit the new one is the cartridge...
Hi all,
I’ve just removed a Triton mixer bar shower I had fitted ten years ago to replace it with a Mira shower.
The instructions suggest I should have 25mm of pipes sticking out so that I can put the wall brackets over them, then the olives and then the nipples. I don’t have this setup. If...
Hi there,
We've got a problem that I'm hoping someone has some thoughts on. We have a Grohe thermostatic bath/shower mixer in a first-floor bathroom which is fed by a combination boiler. The intsallation has worked fine for around 8 years without problem.
Around 2 months ago the hot water in...
Hi
A couple of days ago our shower power would not kick in.
I switched off at the power and ran the water for a bit which seemed to resolve it.
However yesterday the problem returned but worse.
I tried switching the power off and running both hot and cold but the issue persists and the flow...
Hi all, just installing a Bristan mixing valve.
On the hot and cold inputs it has non return valves that have a fibre washer between the NRV and the body of the valve.
Do I need to ptfe the threads as well of is the fibre washer enough?
Tried to upload a photo but there seems to be a problem...
