Hi everyone
my machine started smelling really bad and after a poke around I found that there was a load of foul smelling water hanging around in the drain outlet at the bottom left of the machine. I cleaned all this out, tipped the machine forward to clear it all, and thought I'd sorted it...
Need to connect waste pipe of washing machine. The waste pipe is the white one connected to the gray one.
The gray pipe underneath is not in use.
What connectors would be best? Where to cut?
First time I've seen one of these. This was connected to the back of the same machine. Though machines were hot and cold feed or recently cold only. Why would you have a twin cold hose like this?
Hello,
I'm a complete novice when it comes to plumbing related issues so I'd be very grateful for any advice.
I constantly have problems with my kitchen sink draining really slowly, even after it's been checked for a blockage inside and outside of my flat. When my washing machine is on it...
Wondering if anyone can shed some light on what might be happening here.
Kitchen is situated in a block of flats, with a common waste stack. When draining the sink (which drains into the common stack) there had previously been an issue with a knocking noise which turned out to be PVC pipe...
Hi guys,
As the title says, we are moving our combi boiler from its current location to next to our combi boilers as there are no other areas in our houseto place it. Can we ‘T’ straight off the cold feed from the combi boiler in tothe washing machine (which only requires a cold feed) for it...
Some background info;
Want to have a washing machine in the utility room, however, no soil pipe or drains near the utility room. there are doors in between the run to the kitchen sink or the W.C
I came up with an idea and want to see if any experienced plumbers can give me some tips on regs...
We need a pump to get the waste water up to worktop level from sink trap...no toilet, just utility sink and washing machine.
I know nothing about waste water pumps, which is the best one guys?
Hello.
I am looking to install an outside tap.
It will be fixed to external house wall above a drain and the best access to cold water water supply is thru the wall to the utility area where I have a sink and a washing machine.
The pipe work under the sink is a bit restricted and not very...
Hi all, I have a problem with blockage (I think)
First, the dishwasher didn't drain, so I did an empty run with some vinegar, and that seemed to clear it. All was fine for a while, once or twice I had a bit of an overflowing from the sink drain, more a gargling like noise, but that was all...
Just bought a new house with a Worcester Greenstar Camray 18/25 boiler and Zircon cylinder. Hot water and heating are working fine. When in heating mode boiler sounds normal but when in hot water mode it sounds like a very noisy washing machine in wash mode, gurgling swishing noise of water. Is...
Hi,
I am trying to install a trap in my washing machine standpipe. The problem is that bottom of the cupboard is too close to the main drainage pipe that I don't have space to connect the trap. Can anyone help me how to raise the level of the drain pipe using connectors.
I've just installed a new washing machine that only needs cold water supply. The hot water pipe is now obsolete, but the valve (if that's the proper name for it) is leaking when turned off. I've had to put the flexible hose that was connected to the old washing machine back onto the hot water...

Just read another post about the washing machine creating a vacuum and pulling the water out of the trap, resulting in bag egg smells coming out from the sewer through the sink drain plugs, wonder if this is my issue and not stale water from the washing machine....on my drain trap picture there...
Hi Chaps,
I'll shortly be fitting a new washing machine in the kitchen - the current one being inconveniently situated in the garage:(
The only practicable location is as shown in the following (poorly drawn!) sketch:
A solid fuel Aga used to live in the chimney breast, but it was ripped out...
I have some routing issues with my grey waste - I have to get over or under another appliance. I don't want to go up, as the washer will back-fill. I was wondering about the possibility of installing the usual pipe down to floor level (for reasons I won't go into I can run a 40mm pipe along...
Hey all,
I have recently moving my washing machine into the utility room next door to make way for my new dishwasher. I have already cored a hole in the wall which is near the botom of the wall and have run the cold water inlet hose through it with no problems. I have 2 waste flexi hoses...
