Hi guys.
Im desperate for a professional advice. I have recently moved to a new flat where I have a problem with my hot water running out very quickly. The plumber boy provided by the landlady made several visits to no avail. First blaming on the scale buildup, then on a faulty thermostat but...

Hi there, don't know if this one has been covered before or not. We currently have a hot water cylinder on an immersion. Don’t currently have gas in property, as Northern Gas Networks have quoted nearly a grand to do. Our electric bill was ridiculous last quarter; we also have crappy storage...
Will try explain this problem best I can. I have a Ecocat thermal store (Chelmer heating) for central heating and DHW.
My understanding is the the cylinder has a hot water section at the top and a heat buffer below (for central / underfloor heating). The Chelmer diagrams show both of the tanks...

Hi, I'm trying to find out a reason for very high electricity usage in my flat and I'm suspecting my water heater. It seems to be losing a lot of heat. The cabinet is always very warm and I took off the front panel it turned out there are long stretches of very hot copper pipes completely...
Is it ok to fit an "indirect" water cylinder in place of a "direct" cylinder ? The reason i ask is we have had "direct" one stolen from a property but have a spare "inderect" one spare.
I would like to replace my gravity (non-pumped primary) copper hot water cylinder with a stainless steel one but have been unable to locate a stainless steel non-pumped cylinder.

After a mix up at the merchants I have been left with a regular 36x18 copper cylinder, but the one I was after one suitable for a gravity fed coil!
The manufacterer said it might work, as the coil does fall thoughout the coil ( which i can see thru the immersion hole ), but I just wondered what...

Hi all, following on from a recent question that i asked about hot water cylinders. I have to swap over an existing 450 x 900 cylinder with another of the same size. The only difference being the new cylinder is stainless steel as it was a good price and comes with a good warranty. The tappings...

I got asked recently to have a look at someones hot tap in their kitchen. It's an ordinary semi-detached two floor house . The tap is downstairs and fed by an indirect copper cylinder on the next floor with a vent going to the cistern in the attic. This was apparently always the setup.
The...

Good evening all, a general question please -
When fitting 22mm pipework to an indirect hot water cylinder are there any rules/guidance as to how far into the cylinder body the pipework should be inserted. Clearly you do not want too little pipe in but i am mindful of putting the pipework too...

Hiya,
Having a strange intermittent leak from a valve, or rather a pair of valves on the side of my hot water cylinder. It is doesn't leak all the time, usually after nothing has been used for a while and the mains pressure climbs.
I am wondering whether to drain the tank and then "dismantle"...
