20 25 heatslave tripping out

hi new to here would appreciate some advice i am a builder with limited plumbing know how . my 20 25 oil combi heatslave keeps tripping out the little button under the control panel the pump is working fine the three way valve is ok ?? its started getting every day now the boiler is 6 years old . i have bled the radiators but there was not much air yet at night they make a noise .. wondering if there getting too hot any ideas welcome thanks .

Tripping out? On high limit stat or tripping out electric or failing to fire

Sounds like high limit, what's the pressure gauge reading?

its the limit stat . are these boilers any good ? never had anything to do with one before ,

Check expansion vessel, are you having to re-pressurise the system all the time? , how many rads is it running?

Is the room stat working properly? I'm wondering if it's not sending a signal back to the boiler to say it's satisfied.

First of all you need to check that the system is up to pressure, sometimes the gauges are not accurate and can read pressure when there is none, secondly check to make sure the water pump is working. If all this is ok I would put a temp gauge in the thermostat pocket and see what temperature the boiler is getting up to before it trips out, that will tell you if it is the limit stat that is faulty or the control stat that is faulty, if you dont have means of checking the temperatur I would buy a new limit stat because they are one of the components that goes, if that doesnt cure it it will be the control stat or the hot water stat so you need to do it by a process of elimination.
