Ive done 54mm with a single surefire with Mapp. Piece of proverbial. Mind you that was 54mm Yorkies (thank god I wasnt paying for the fittings)

i already had a run in the week before with the apprentice taking the photo, hence the gloves for the sore digits !
safe to say i did not trust him with a torch or solder anywhere near me...

Got out of Croydon when the going was good then ? (I know pops is still there, but set in his ways ?) Croydon may be Surrey but felt more like inner London (or Beirut) last time I went through.
PS worked for Mansell's & spent a lot of time in H&B's in my younger day's.

WE still do this one sometimes - what we do is two fellas 2x blowlamps use yorks fittings (at this size the price uplift is not worth thinkin about) and then when the solder appears from the yorks fitting all around then run the joint around with rolled solder aswell - good advice from Father XmasQUOTE=Skelly87;383294]Hi all, my question is on soldering techniques.
