Hello,
Having worked in construction since finishing school but now being out of work, I have decided that I want to become fully qualified in some other trades. Ideally, I would like to gain all the necessary plumbing quals to become fully qualified i.e level 3 and beyond. Im 25 now so apprenticeship unlikely so decided to go the college route. Not interested in the fast track courses they seem abit dodgy to me and expensive for what you get (not knocking this route, each to their own... might be better suited to some people.)
My local college is offering the 6129 TC due to start in September but being one to not want to part with my money unless I know exactly what i would be going into and also reading the recent posts about the situation with the switchover to 6189, I am unsure if this course will be worthwhile considering the 6189 will be the new industry standard.
I understand would mean I would need work with a firm in order to fully complete the 6189. Is it still possible to complete the 6129 and the be eleigible to upgrade to the 6189 once (or if lucky enough) to have secured employment with a firm.
What are peoples thoughts and opinions on this? Is the 6129 still worthwhile doing?
Any info greatly appreciated,
Kind regards,
Tim, Romford, Essex
