I've a customer having bought a Bathstore ex-display monobloc tap. It had no tails, and I got some 8mm flexi, hoping they'd fit (10mm too large). The dia *feels* right (deeply recessed fitting), but only turns a fraction leading me to think the thread is incorrect.
Any advice what I should be looking for?

As someone 'into' taps, the (virtually universal) stds are 8,10 & 12mm for tails.
However, many 'cheap/imported' taps are diverted USA stocks and they use an NPT thread. Often the BSP 1/2 & 3/4" fit their NPT equiv but no other sizes do.
Im afraid, IMHO, you must advise said custard they need either to locate their own tails from the orig supplier or buy a new tap. Sorry. 😉

OK great. No probs about rejecting the supplied tap - just wanted to be sure I'd checked thoroughly. Duff tap on a cheapo basin - not the bargain they'd anticipated!
