I've noticed over the past few weeks that a few of my customers are delaying payment, coming up with one excuse or another which really have no basis. In the current climate I can see this happening more frequently.
It only tends to be with landlords who want me to attend emergency work, do the job and then you cant get hold of them once its fixed. You know the score.
Now after 1 particular slippery landlord I'm considering taking a payment card as security before I attend a callout. That way after the work is complete I can charge it to the card accordingly.
Anyone know of any issues I may have with that?

Cheers

I've already got a card machine Stan, I'm just wondering if this way I'm proposing would have any drawbacks.

i can't see anything wrong tbh. any landlord worth his salt should be more than happy to do this, cut down working for anyone who refuses they'll soon get the message.

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like Ill be hard-lining Landlords from now on!...

That didn't quite sound like the way I wanted to but oh well... you get the drift!
