Seriously thinking of giving for health reasons. I have been on waiting list for 18 month as i have degenerative spine disease. Basically backs worn out and past its use by date. Waiting for an operation thats never gonna come.
I have ran it past my other half a few times just as an utterance and shes not keen. but the truth is i am in chronic pain after a days work. So much so that for every day I do i pretty much have to take the next one off as im in agony.

I am just putting together a list of equipment i have and gathering interest in who may be interested.
I am not giving the stuff away but i am sat here unable to sleep due to being in agony and ive had enough of this. I am literally almost crying with pain. Loaded up with as much codeine tablets as i dare.
Some days are better than others but it is particularly bad right now.

Im gonna list the high value stuff over the course of the weekend as im away in caravan and can sit and ponder whats there..

So keep a loose eye on this thread and if i decide then you may score for a modest batgain

Sorry you're suffering so much mate. Maybe you'll be the manager of the first Williams & Co in the frozen Northern wastelands?

Sorry to hear that. I'm suffering with bad back too, nowhere near as bad as yours. But your situation is making me think more about getting it sorted early. Have you tried different pain releif? codeine works better mixed with paracetamol ie. Co codamol. Keep on for that op! good luck

Really sorry to hear about your pain feller. It must be so frustrating when all you want to do is work. As above, try different meds if you haven't already. Enjoy your rest in your caravan.

Sorry Phill to hear you have back problems. Think carefully before making a decision to have any operations on your back. I have a friend who has similar problem, but decided to go with alternative medicine and proper diet. You can to some extent improve your bones and joints by helping your body heal itself. Worth you looking into that.

That's a pain in the arse Phill, try teaching that will give you a headache!
My wife fractured her back in October so can understand. Best of luck for the future.

Nothing worse than back pain mate. Sorry to hear you're suffering. Have you considered a job on the cards as a supervisor? Nothing to carry but a clipboard and you get to rip other people's work to pieces! I wouldn't sell your gear.

Sorry to hear about your back problems Phill.

If you consider the switch to merchanting, make sure its an office or sales job, or in something like spares - the warehouse can be as tough as being on site for messing up backs.

Maybe one of the training companies?

Hello Phill,

I feel sorry for you too as everybody on this forum. Is there not any chance of going abroad for an operation ? If I were you I would try many different ways just to get it sorted asap. I.e I am not registered in poland but because of my fiancee i am able to go to doctors and pay a little for priavte treatments please have a think abvout it.

Certainly sounds like you should stop the manual labour, there is more to life than work. If you are in this much pain it should be a wake up call to change how you do things. Perhaps a change of career. Or even have you considered employing someone and just focussing on winning work and organising their diary, you probably wont make as much money but still an income in an industry you are familiar with.

yeh, as said.
look into career change like banking, not much money in it though!
or hit your thumb with a mallet to take you mind of the back.lol 😉

Sounds like a horrible situation to be in...

Is this wear & tear or was it brought on by an accident?

Definitely sounds like you shouldn't be working, you don't want to make yourself any worse!

Good luck finding a suitable job, would a driving type job be easier or something sat down more!

Sorry to here that mate,
A job behind a trade counter or college teacher if you could handle that might be a good next route
