Hello,

I have an alcove shower with a wall to wall measurement of 952mm.

I need a bifold door and am looking at something contemporary, 8mm glass with black trim- Issue is that the lower spec limit of the door is 960mm. It seems to be the same with all (Yes I can get a 1000 bifold door in chrome with 6mm glass and large trim that has a lower spec of 950 but its just not what I'm after).

Anyone have any experience of making a bifold door fit? I'm thinking there has to be some additional give in the seals that may absorb the 8mm (4mm each side) - Or maybe the side trim can be modified slightly.
 
I’ve just installed a replacement bi-fold door and side screen, the minimum dimension is just that, however, the door frame sits within a channel trim which enables, in my case 40mm of adjustment.

Check the manufacture’s literature for tolerance.
 
Depending on the design of the door and profile- it may be possible to lose a bit of width by cutting down either door frame or profile ( whichever one goes inside, so the cut edge is not seem).
8mm is quit a lot though.
Dare I asked how this cock up occurred, normally a bathroom fitter such as myself thinks the whole job through and this sort of thing does not happen.
