Asbestos

View the thread, titled "Asbestos" which is posted in UK Plumbers Forums on UK Plumbers Forums.

mdf fibres, celotex when sawn, fibres from inset fire coals. The list goes on if its fire proof or insulating its gonna cause damage....dont know if your all aware but old vermiculite insulation '1980's could be contaminated with asbestos because of where it was mined. Theres loads of 80s lofts full of that ( nightmare if you drop a spanner)..

Yup, I agree completely with the last few posts.

I'm just hoping that the few precautions I make (like wearing a respirator when needed) help enough.

Life's a lottery anyway. You just got to live it, and be optomistic.

I couldn't work in an office. Dear me, what a grind.

Oh an LP, 6 months on a mine hunter. Madness!!

the thing that is really bad about this awarness about asbestos is, and i dont mean to bore but i watched a program about ancient egypt. they used to make slaves clothes out of the fibres and they knew it caused lung desease back then cause the clothing killed em. yet every falling to pieces school full of kids you work in is riddled.
