Feel the need to vent so here goes.
Friday I had a lovely job, earnt 420 quid, got paid cash, sun was out, all was well with the world. Making my way home to spend the weekend with the family and thinking of the fun we could have with cash on the hip. Then about a mile from home I change gear and the clutch suddenly does nothing. Clutch gone. Ring a few garages when I get in and manage to find one that did it Saturday for 425 quid!
Get it back runs sweet but the radio has reset and needs a pin code which I don't have. Not fun on a 60 mile trip each day.
oh and Sunday night get some paperwork out the van to do invoices forget to lock it. Go out this morning no sat nav! Aggggghhhhhh!

The sat nav was about 8 years old and not worth a carrot. But not really the point. Little ****s. They didn't take my classic rock cd which I'm quite insulted by. They had to move it to get to the sat nav!

Typical, whenever I think things are going well something all pops up to remind me that lifes a pig lol.

Atleast you got the van sorted over the weekend so you didnt have to lose any wages

What annoys me is in the 80's and 90's there was a certain skill to stealing a car, hot wiring, cracking steering lock etc and it was almost imperessive how they could have a car away in 2 minutes flat without the key but the mindless demented chavs these days can't even be bothered to do anything else but try door handles on the off chance of a satnav or break into the house for a key.

Misspent youth Phil? I'd have thought there was a better living in nicking motors than in plumbing....well except if you get caught! 😛

On the bright side though, your clutch was going to go anyway, better to go when you have the cash in your pocket at the end of the week rather than Monday morning on the way to a nice earner. :euro:

fair point what would of done with it anyway take the family out get drunk bout that dream tool youve been dying to get

The clutch was on the way out, The Good Lord / Karma / Higher Power (whatever your thing is) was looking down and said he is a decent bloke I'll match him to a nice little earner so he and the family are not put under undue pressure over what is about to happen.

You can look on the negative side or;

Be thankful you had the skills to earn the required sum of money.

P.S. Don't pluck it up by including the invoice for the clutch in your VAT return, remember cash is cash, VAT should have a lodgement to equal outgoings.

Cheers pete good point.
better day today. Merchants delivered to much tube! And I managed to get the code for the radio from the transit forum! (yes it exists!)
