Completed a job on Friday (yesterday) and the customer paid me my £1130.00 from her smartphone app at around 5:30pm but it hasn't showed up on my online transactions statement yet. Is this normal for a bank holiday weekend?

I'm just getting into bank transfers I normally take a cheque, I've never worked for this customer before and its a lot of money.

Will I have to wait until Tuesday to know whether I've been paid or not ?

Santander bank.

All banks are different mate, sometimes it is a few hours sometimes next day.
Bar the weekend though I'd expect to see the cash in on Tuesday 🙂

Most banks it's usually through within a couple of hours (not sure about business accounts) but it may not show up on a statement until the next working day but the money should show up if you check your balance even if it's not yet cleared

Most banks are immediately or next day depending on agreements between banks, my mate pays me and I get it 2-3 days later and in the evening not the morning, not sure if this is him lieing or the bank but he is the only one who does it!!, expect it on Tuesday if earlier then bonus

I'm with santander business banking and bank transfers from my customers always show up at exactly the same time they instruct their bank to pay. Even at the weekend.

Never had a problem with that aspect of santander.

Depend if its a bacs or bill payment.
Bacs can take up to 3 working days, bill payment or direct transfer should be within minutes.

I'm with Santander.....nothings gone in yet.

Must be bacs
3 working days.
friday left their account
sat, sun, Monday closed.
tuesday into banking system.
wednesday into your account.

So why does Croft get his on a weekend??
Probably because its not bacs. I'm with HSBC and if I paid you now, by bill payment. It would be in your Santander account in 10 min.
Bacs is like an automated cheque.

Yes, 99% of my customers pay me by internet banking which I think is different to BACS and instant in most cases these days.

Okay I'm worried now, nothing in yet. I was paid Friday tea time and its now Thursday morning and nothing has gone in.

I don't entirely trust this customer, all she ever talked about was how great she was and how much money they have.

I've been a slave to my log on screen all week and I'm sick of it now, if when I get in tonight and still nothing I'm going to have to make an awkward phone call.

A quick call to ask the customer to check their account to see if it's out and ask what method they used, they make have made a mistake with your details and the money is still on their account, or it's out and they will need to chase it up for you

Usually when I get a transfer from a custard it shows very quickly.

When Agnes transfer via BACS its 3/4 working days.

When I transfer to other accounts from mine they usually show quickly.

It's not awkward, just say you want to confirm you have given her the correct bank details.

If she confirms they are correct ask her where the feck you money is?

If they're wrong give the right ones.all simple

Just word it as follows: -

Hi, I just wanted to double check the details of the account you have paid the cash into as we have had instances before of customers paying money into the wrong account by accident. Obviously we don't want that to happen again so can you please reconfirm the bank details of the account you have paid the cash into. Cheers!

hope she hasn't put in the wrong details my dad did this and it took him nearly 9 months to get it back.

BACS stands for Bankers' Automated Clearing Services and is exactly that - a clearing service, effectively paperless cheques, and can take as long to clear as paper ones, depending on the bank.

Online bill payment / funds transfer is a payment directly into the recipient's account in the same way as if you walked into a bank and deposited cash into their account. It is often instant but may take an hour or so to show.

I mainly make online payments and in general they all go through immediately, might take a couple of hrs at the most. This is the same when sending to other banks as well.

had this before with santandarenot.. they put an imediate stop to 'over value' purchases and wont release the money till you complain. takes a long while too with them!!.

hope that £1,100 was just the deposit?lol
