any one know of a supplier of say a box spanner that fits basin waste nuts? or an easy option rather than removing the sink or pedestal on the nightmare jobs? if I could get a boxspanner that fit I would then bodge and solder a half inch socket onto the end and just a extentionbar and a ratchet or strong bar

I do mean the waste nut I made it up as I allways do and it leaked like a goon en! but I make them ujp on the floor then fit them and its a right pig to change them once fitted I managed today with my biggest grips but sometimes the sink has to come out and I think it would be a great tool to market ha ha todays was the cheapest ebay sink the cust could find but it really wound me up!

Im with Steve on this.
A sausage of mait under the flange, tighten up the back nut. I smear a bit of silicone around as well

I allways use basin mates never once had a problem with them but this job I just couldn't get it to stop weeping in the end I had to basinmate it and plumbers gold it

the mcalpine waste are good to fit to installed basins if your fitting a standard plug. Just a screw like a sink waste and your done.

Like Tomplum in his video, Plumbers Mate on the top under the flange, silicone on the poly washer & backnut. Will never leak.

Lead washer, putty & paint anyone??

Oh by the way OP; a Sink is in the Kitchen & a Wash Basin or Basin is in the Bathroom.
