Hi, got home from work last night and boiler was showing fault code E158 (condensing discharge fault). Have had a look in the boiler and there is a small pool of water in the bottom of the boiler so I have taken the condensing pump off and the bottom of it appears to be warped and not sealing around the impella housing. Have seen other post saying that there is a problem with the pump fitted to this boiler and was wondering if this is it? Has anyone else experienced this problem any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have been getting plenty of E158 faults but not the problem you have stated?

Normally I disconnect the plastic tube from the push fit connector top left and blow through it to clear. After reconnecting, press the reset button on the right of the bbu and all sorted.

If the condense pump has warped I would get Baxi in asap as it should still be under warranty.

I keep getting the same E158 errors at regular intervals and it's really irritating. There is no visible water in/around the boiler and the condensate pipe is not blocked and the condensate appears to be pumped out as it should after resetting. After resetting, the boiler will work for a bit but not long - perhaps a couple of hours/ half a day. 2 different heating engineers have looked at the boiler and state it's all working as it should but inevitably when they turn up it's not erroring!
In the manual it says that when the level of condensate in the sump is 'sufficient' the discharge float will be activated and run for 7 seconds discharging 0.6 litres of condensate. If this does not happen (as I suspect is happening in my case) the safety float switch is activated and the boiler lockouts. Grateful if anyone could advise if it's error 158 that would be generated in that scenario, and if so whether it's simply a case of replacing the float switch?

Had Heateam Engineer out last Wednesday after having the same problem, was pumping out but not enough,he had to replace both the condensate pump and PCB (on our 21 month old boiler) as they have been redesigned and come as an upgrade kit, it also now runs a little quieter. Might be an idea to get your heating engineer to check the base of the condensate pump for warping, which is what had happened to ours. The old pump which was removed had only 3 screws holding the base on, where the new one has more.

hi just fitted the upgrade kit part number 720330201 price £116.40 kit includes new pcb and condensate pump worked ok with no error codes
