Hey guys. I feel like I'm still finding my feed a bit with breakdown diagnosis. Would like to run past what I did. See if I'm on the money or not. I came to the boiler and it trying to fire but locking out. Fans working, I can hear the solenoid clicking in on gas valve. So I pull the spark electrode assembly and that's sparking ok. Pop that back in. Next I put my u gauge on p1 on the gas valve (what mastermind put that there 😉 ) I isolated the gas at the boiler I put my multimeter across the black and red on the solenoid then asked it to fire again. I had 213 v dc at the gas valve. So Pcb is sending power to the solenoid but my u gauge did not drop. I then blew down the copper tube that is on the top of the gas valve to clear that. Still the gauge didn't drop. So I can only assume its a gas valve replacement. Am I right? I just hate sitting here not feeling 100% but can't think of any other potential issues.

All advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Considering I moderate on a car forum I should know better about posting in the wrong sections.

I must of got red saw and gas man at a good time.

i know exactly why we don't want non engineers trying this out. Seen too many plebs out there. Some of them have a gas card though.

Anyway. Am I on the money ith my diagnosis? Lol

If you're gauge is on the inlet and it doesn't drop when going through ignition then it would indicate a gas valve issue. Trying smacking it one with a spanner during ignition. I think the resistance between top and bottom pins should be about 7.5 kohms.
On the top test point, you should get an increase in mbar from zero to about 7mbar.

I did give it a bash with the back of my long reach screw driver. Didn't work. Have ordered a new gas valve.
