Best way of joining 1.25 copper to 28mm copper

I have recently moved into a new home (old house) where the pipe from the boiler to the cylinder (indirect vented) is 1.25 inches.
I need to change the cylinder and was wondering how best to join 1.25mm copper to 28mm copper for the new tank.
Any advice would be gratefully received

Shaun, definitely copper. Will a 35mm Compression or Yorkshire fit a 1.25mm pipe ? I think the pipework is about 40 years old at a guess.

Easy to tell will measure 35mm / if you find a fitting will be listed / written on it on the nut front face

This may help. 3 pictures with dimensions in cm and inches on a digital caliper. it has paint on it.... so its going to be a fraction smaller

Just make sure the new cylinder is suitable for gravity hot water heating side most arnt

Shaun, I wanted to thank you for your advice.

I rung the supplier of the cylinder this am and asked them to ensure it had a gravity fed coil.
They called gledhill and they changed the order. They will supply this with a gravity coil and its only £18 extra.
If it was not for your help, I would have probably had to send the cylinder back and that would have been painful.
