Hi all, as per title. What's the best way to clean plate hex. My mate uses sulphuric acid with hot water. He puts the hex in a bucket, pours the acid into the heating side, let's it soak for a few minutes then pours boiling water in the bucket until hex fully emersed in water, leaves it for about another 5 minutes then repeats once more....

Fernox DS40 granules in the heat-ex then fill with boiling water. Immerse in boiling water and boil up for a while. Rinse through and repeat depending on need.

Makes them like new.

See my helpful picture of one I did a few weeks ago

Give customer 2 options:

New hex £100 + £85 fitting (or whatever you charge)

Refurbish hex £50 + £85 fitting

Aka I make £50 more and they save £50 and the heat ex is as good as new.

good luck with trading standars with that one!!
your not supplying what you state/exchange. your cleaning it only so if it splits later they can have you.
it also takes longer so your £85 labour is incorrect

sulphuric? goes bang with water, sure its not phopheric acid ? if its the later pointless adding water to the mix as it neutralises it
