Gas Engineer
Ok so a landlord I do a bit for asked me to take a look at the above. Didn't have any MI's or any paper work for the boiler.

when switching the boiler on it hum's for 5 or so sec then just stops. Only 1 green LED flashing about once a sec.

When taking a closer look at both the PCB's only the far left green LED lights up flashing 1 a sec.

When hot water is called for a red LED next to the pump is a light.

I'v changed both PCB's of the recommendations of Biasi TEC.

That didn't work, boiler is still the same.

The fan moves freely as dose the pump.

Any ideas people????

Many thanks

Think the diverter valve on this model has two diaphragms, large one for hot water demand, smaller one to detect the pump is running. Does the pin pop out on the small one? It will bring on the pump fault light if it doesn't. Diaphragm could be perished, or the small hole in the housing could be blocked.

I never looked at the diverter valve mate, mainly coz when I spoke with biasi TEC they only said about the PCBs & the top engineer I spoke with said if it's not starting the fan, pump or sparks it's the PCBs.
I'll let the landlord know about the diverter tho mate, BIG thanks.

yeah theres a pump proving switch that should pop out when the pump starts as mentioned above. Does the pump run at all? if not id say check the thermistors

Didn't read the post properly, as Plumb Ugly said, you need to determine whether the pump is running or not first!

Also, that was poor advice from Biasi! Just because the pump doesn't run, doesn't necessarily mean the PCB isn't providing power to it!

You need to check whether or not you have power to the pump when there is demand, the buzzing you mentioned could well be a sign of a knackered pump!

biasi tec are normaly ok in my experiance did they not take you through the boiler with a multimeter before coming to the assumption its the pcb and ignition board?

Thanks peeps for all the advice.

Popped in there today, un-plugged the electric bit's on the diverter valve, turned the boiler on, held the micro switch on & BINGO!!!!
:biggrin5: :biggrin5: :biggrin5: :biggrin5:

I was the happiest man alive at that moment lol.

Plugged the D/V back in, tested the boiler over the next hour, working fine. Called the cust this afternoon & it's still going strong.

BIG thanks to all for the advice boys

Be cool n stay sharp

I had this the other day as above it was the primary flow switch. It was sludged up.
