Too much talk about fossil fuels in the pub last night.

Our Oil boiler Worcestor Danesmoor 15/19 went into lockout last night. Makes no noise, tried bleeding but as nothing running no go. I switched the power off and back on with no change. Just has power and lockout lights on and can hear the timer running.

Its Sods Law that our woodburner is out of action too.

Any tips welcome please

Sorry should have posted in Oil section.

Tried the reset button - Lockout light goes out, can hear a buzz for a while then a click, a little more buzzing and then lockout light on again, then buzz stops. (tried this with bleed open)

Gonna be a two jumper day I guess !!

Yes got oil.

Only other thing I should mention is in the hot summer the top of oil tank split but I sealed it so don't expect any water got in.

I have had issues with condensation forming inside the underside of the tank and dropping into and mixing with the oil contaminating it, that caused all sorts of ignition problems you need a company who specialise in oil and can test your oil supply and any remedial work will need to be done . Kop

if you are just hearing a buzzing noise - the motor is not turning therefore either capacitor gone or oil pump jammed

Thanks all for the pointers. A couple of Q's. Can I test the oil myself somehow to see if contaminated? Can I power the oil pump etc. up on the bench to see if jammed etc?

I think your best option is to employ the services of a recommended oil engineer.
Who will be able to diagnose and repair your boiler,
Hopefully in one visit. If you ask they will also test the fuel tank for water as well.
