Burner not firing for hot water when heating is off

View the thread, titled "Burner not firing for hot water when heating is off" which is posted in Boiler Advice Forum on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and hope someone can help. I have a 6 month old oil fired Grant vortex pro external combi 26 boiler. We have only recently fully turned off the heating and as a result are now not getting any hot water once the thermal store water is used up. I have a dual hw and heating programmer which was used with the old boiler though the hot water function was never used and we used to get direct hot water with no problem. Now however the dhw pump doesn't seem to trigger firing of the burner so i can only get hot water if the heating is turned on. (Turning on / off the hot water on the programmer makes no difference to anything). Any suggestions for how to fix this greatly appreciated! Thanks. Dave.

Thanks for the reply. I guessed it was something to do with the wiring but hoped someone could advise on a DIY solution as the installer has ceased trading and I'd rather not have to pay for a new call out unless absolutely necessary. Thanks.
