Gonna be doing a job soon, the guy wants a 2nd toilet fitted to be connected to the existing toilet before it exits to the stack directly on other side of the wall.

New toilet will be in bathroom to left of cloakroom and pass through a utility room before it reaches toilet in cloak room (approx 4m run, 1 elbow).

Stack is shared between 3 flats, cast iron. Branch from stack is cast iron and goes into property at floor level. Once inside a 2inch iron branch tees into the 4inch above the toilet.

I've told the guy not to touch it and just have the one toilet. But I said I'd look into the possibility.

What would you guys do?

Its n old one pipe vented system. It has been proven to work fine without the vent as a single stack (depending on the height if its a flat) so you can cut it out.
He might have picked up the empty toilet rolls. Is the house minging? If it is add a few quid on for the laundry bills

So is it possible to cut the branch of the 4" near the wall and join it with plastic?

Regarding height, he's the middle flat of three..

Lol at empty toilet rolls.. the flat is a work in progress but at the mo it's a **** hole!!

Cutting CI. leaving 90mm of plain pipe for stepped Clay/CI. to plastic connector works, provided CI. is cleaned off externally.Smear plumbers mate external on CI. Sometimes CI. is not truly round especially near junctions but connector can usually accommodate small distortions. A stepped neoprene connector will take up large distortion but looks crap unless boxed in. When all else fails an internal connector plastic/CI, similar to a pan connector, will get you out of jail but as this reduces internal diameter of pipe provision for rodding is advisable.

Cheers Joni.. that's really helpful thanks!!

Is there a specific type of connection to join another 4" coming in from the left before it hits the stack outside (between toilet and stack), or just a standard branch connection?

Avoid close coupled WC, this will create problem with standoff at wall, but with the low level WC shown in photo. standard branch will suffice.
