I changed a radiator at my house today, for a longer double.

On the 1st floor so took some floorboards up and and looked at sphagetti jubction with pipes and wired all over the place!

Anyway, got the old rad off, measured and put brackets on wall for new one and fitted valves etc.

Decided what I needed and went to screwfix, got some copper pipe, got home , drained system, cut some pipes all OK, plumbed the locksheild all OK, the TRV was more tricky as need to put in more pipe, fittings etc. etc.

Anyway, thought after 4 hours was sorted, all OK, filled system and a fountain sprang from a pipe!!!!!! New pipe today.

Need to drain again an dreplace, there was a small groove in the pipe which I never checked, nightmare, the 4 hour job truned into nearly 6!

All good experience and onto the next.

How much do you charge to do a rad that needs new pipework fitted?
Cheers all.

I usually charge from £250 for supply and fit rad onto existing system. But just to swap supplied rad and alter some pipework would be about £150.

Cheers. I have a few more in my house to change so the practise is great. £150 for a swap sounds decent as I am sure I'll get quicker as I get more experience but happy with the 1st one.
