Im guessing that unnamed brand was magnaclean seeing as their magnets mysteriously got smaller than the older models and no mention was made by the rep. It made me laugh all the more when I realised its actually smaller than the centramag and TF1 magnet now, yet they used to bleat on about how their magnet was bigger and therefore better. In my opinion leaving out the truth is the same as lying, and yes I may lose work from being honest but I havent had to advertise for over 15 years due to my reputation and word of mouth. Be nice if companies worked the same.

The MB2 that i saw in china it didnt have a magnet inside ,i have opted for a grade n52 ,which is the highest grade magnet that you can get ,I do not want to lower the grade to save money like a top selling branded filter has recently done and they are selling 30k filters a month and if you phone them up they will never give you the gauss power of the magnet.
This particular brand has bought 2 centramags to check the magnet and design out from one of our retail merchants!!!!!!!!!

magnaclean used to state 316 stainless steel magnet on their website and mysteriously its not there anymore .Ring them and ask what gauss power their magnet is .They will never reveal the magnet power .

That would explain the funny catch pattern on my latest filters. These used to attract particles fairly evenly. But not so any more. There is now a bulk at the inlet and the rest of the cartridge is barely used.

I've fitted Spiros for the last 2 years but recently gone back to Magnaclean, due to fact the Spiros are rubbish at doing what they are sold for !! Yes they will never ever leak but if they don't filter and catch debris properly what's the point . As a test I attached a Spiro to my powerflush machine alongside my Magna (Spiro first) ,when it came to cleaning them it seemed all the muck had just passed through the Spiro, there was a lot of sludge on the Magna but very little on the Spiro !

(1) you question the power of the magnet (2) the design of the new filter is poor because as the water goes into the inlet ,water hits the centre of the magnet thus debris not attracting towards the magnet.
