Check valves on mixer taps

View the thread, titled "Check valves on mixer taps" which is posted in UK Plumbers Forums on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hello,
Do I need to put a check valve on the cold feed of a bathroom basin mixer tap if it's on a Combo boiler and the tap is dual flow as opposed to a single flow where the water is mixed in the body which I understand should have a cv?

Cheers

Thanks Shaun,
I didn’t see this reply.
Looking at the other scenario. Is there a need to put a CV on the cold feed if it’s a combi and the water is mixed in the spout or does the combi wipe out the complete need for a CV.

In theory anytime water mixes yes but in reality and domestically this never happens

(Best practice )

Thanks Shaun,
That makes sense as when I asked a few seasoned plumbers about dual flow and mixing in the body they looked at me as if I was an alien. Especially when I mentioned using a CV’s.
I assume the possibility of water mixing is quite rare even if you have a tank.
Also l don’t think I’ve actually seen many cv’s in my travels if at all. 😊
