i was taught not to waste chrome pipe trying to bend it because the chrome splinters and ruins the finish.

seen a fella bending it the other day and its fine, i'll stick a pic up in a bit.

so do you bend it or not?

i dont no , i even try to use compression fittings too if its visible i think anything else a bit iffy , imho. i alwats try and hide where possible

its a rad tail so radius of bend will be hidden, i was just surprised that it bent without damaging the finish and actually looks ok imo

I have often bent chrome, it does start to show signs of stretching on the chrome finish especially on a 90 degree bend.
but as the bend will probably be at low level to kick up for a radiator etc you don't tend to notice

just an extra point, if your pulling a bend on chrome make sure the lettering that runs along one edge of the pipe will end up against the wall when fitted.

i have done it, normally just small sets to gain difference between connections but sometimes a 90 bend if needed. I dont use it offten tho.

It works for me, just make sure the guides are clean and remember to measure carefully, then measure again. Its expensive stuff and really annoying if it doesn't fit!

I find that the cheaper stuff (Screwfix etc) tends to flake off whereas some of the more expensive chrome pipe from local merchants etc works fine.

works fine when i bend it never had any problems and i have used alot of it on site, but used it recently on a heating system and bent it with no problems, that was chrome pipe from PTS the other was from william wilsons
