Hello,
I’m new to the business so apologies if this is a stupid question. I was tracing the cistern tank overflow pipe and found it eventually went to nowhere. Basically a disaster waiting to happen. The problem I have is that this is a flat on the 2nd floor with no visible external overflow. Can you help me understand what my options are in terms of connecting to the water waste system?

Regards
Tezzer

Firstly, no it’s not a stupid question. Secondly, which cistern overflow are we talking? Thirdly, if it’s a dhw refill cold cistern or heating f&e cistern, they’re designed to give warning there’s an issue, not be transported via waste.

Hello Chris,
Thanks for the speedy response.
The system is an old direct heat immersion with E7 and booster elements. Directly above is the cistern/tank with the over flow pipe which runs to a dead end. Saying that it actually runs to a toilet cistern overflow but was disconnected since the toilet flush valve had been changed at some point to an internal pan overflow. So as of now it is just left unattached to anything.
I suspect that this configuration was put in 25 years ago.

Re instate it into the flush pipe mcalpine make a kit for this
